Day of departure by R.Tagore translated by Ranu

Nelumbo nucifera

On the day of my departure I want to set aside any misunderstanding so that I can say____

whatever I saw , whatever I received, there can be no comparison.

In the middle of this glowing ocean   ruled by innumerable lotus flowers

I drank their honey ,this is why I am extremely grateful.

On the day of my departure  this is what I hope to say

In the strange world  of  earthly life I played so  many games,

I have seen unprecedented things with my eyes.

Those  that cannot be touched    gave themselves up to everyone,

if  you  want to end this  here, then finish it here___

so that I can let all know this when I am leaving.

  1. Dear Ranu,

Thank you very much for this poem.

“On the day of my departure this is what I hope to say…” ~ That line alone is worth so much.

    All good wishes,

    robert
