The word I dislike is “Gossip”. I wish it was never entered in the dictionary. Whenever someone is about to go this path,I think there should be a huge ‘Red Flag ‘ waved instantly,or they have a cough attack.

Many innocent people are the target of this word.I don’t think it’s fair. It is always used in politics, let’s face it if one is not good enough to compete with his/her opponents why drag down the family or relatives.

I always watch the senate race  Ads,one party trying to drag down the other to get votes from the public. They can try to show their positive side and let the public decide who is better. Will it ever happen,I doubt very much.We are humans after all , being fair is not one of our trait!

  1. Dear Ranu,

    Thank you for this post.

I agree that gossip and backbiting is a behavior that tears down people. May we build them up instead!

    All good wishes,

    robert

  2. Negative propaganda is how politics works. We had elections recently here in Pakistan and the election campaigns were full of self praise along with finger pointing the opponents, its all part of the game.

    • It’s funny how this works,Politics itself according to me is a filthy game.
I don’t know how they can face each other, when it’s all over. There is a saying
in Bengali, “Chokhey paurda nai” meaning they are shameless. One day I used it to tell my husband about
someone we know. My daughter’s literal translation was,”How can anyone have curtain on their eyes”?
I explained the real meaning, she said,’Oh still curtain on their eyes’?
