I am a blogger. I started on June 12th 2012.  I like blogging it helps me improve my writing. I like writing stories that are facts and fiction. My favorite poet is Rabindranath Tagore. I love his poems and songs. I translated some of them. I am a Bengali.

My country of origin is Bangladesh. I live in North America. I am a Canadian.

I learned English in school. I studied in a convent. The teachers were Nuns. They were strict. They made sure,we spoke English in school. We paid a fine if we switched to any other language.I learned a lot from my teachers. I also studied Urdu in my school,it was one of the other language I studied. I learned to speak Urdu from the neighborhood kids.Their native language was Urdu. I spoke Bengali at home. My father would not have it any other way. According to him knowing ones mother tongue was important. I spoke three languages in the course of a day. Bengali at home, English in school and Urdu in the neighborhood.

I like listening to music, especially Tagore songs . My favorite Urdu singer is Mohammad Rafi, my favorite English singer are a few, they are :Frank Sinatra,Dean Martin, Nat king Cole And our Canadian singer Celine Dion. Her voice is beautiful.

I like watching TV when they show Jeopardy and Wheel of fortune.

My favorite tennis player is Roger Federer, my favorite ice hockey team is the Boston Bruins.

My favorite past time is writing and reading.

DP Daily Prompt: Fast Forward

If I could fast forward to a specific date in the future, it is January 13 2014,Australian open tennis tournament. It will be interesting to watch all the players on that day. Then read the predictions of the commentators. Most of them are biased anyway. It will be fun watching some new players. I hope Milos Raonic our Canadian player will do well.

This is how far in the future I’d like to go.

365 days Jan.11 2014 This is Your Life

If there is a book published entitled, “This is your Life”, I’ll be curious to read a book about me. The most important thing is,I didn’t write it. I’d have to find out who the author is. How does this person know me. Is he an astrologer, who in my family gave my name? A person can only tell my past,present and future,if someone who knows me,  gave my name, year of birth, name of my parents.These are some basic things one must know to write about me. Also if the person has seen me or talked to me.

I will read the book to find out if the facts about my past and present are true. I will choose to read it then. But there is one problem,if this person knows someone in my family, has the information from that person,it is possible. If I’m unaware of this. I will read the book  from cover to cover to satisfy my curiosity. Whether I will believe the future predictions depends on what is written.
