DP Daily Prompt: Always something there to remind Me
I feel today’s post a day prompt is the best one so far. It gives me an opportunity to speak my mind. I listened to this song several times on YouTube this morning and yesterday.
The song gives me a nostalgic memory of my original home. What I miss. How it was when I was growing up. It is a song written by my most favorite writer Tagore and sung by favorite singer ,Hemant Kumar. And pleasantly in my language Bengali.
I have translated the best way I can. I hope the meaning will convey my thoughts.
I ask my mind
Do you know who you left behind?
I ask my mind
Do you know who you left behind?
For that reason
You couldn’t
Rest all your life
I ask my mind
Do you know who you left behind?
You have forgotten
The path you chose to leave
How will you go back?
I ask my mind
I keep my ears
Close to the river
To hear the chime of the water
My heart shivers
When I hear the rustling leaves
I feel I will find the place
If I understand the
Language of flowers
For the last time
I ask my mind
Do you know
Who you left behind
Yes the path that has followed
The evening star
My mind tells me!!
I love this piece of music; it really appeals to me – and, in an odd way I cannot explain, feels very familiar. Thanks for sharing. xxx
Thank you for liking it.

Extremely nostalgic, with that mysterious power which Tagore has with words and which you convey so beautifully in translations.
Thank you very much Mr. Shafique.
I was going to publish the song today, when I read the poem I was so pleased because this is the first time I was able to include Tagore’s song in the daily post. To me it was simply awesome.Thank you.
It’s been too long since I read Tagore’s words. Such a beautiful song … really enjoyed it.
Thank you Sonya, I was thinking of posting this song with the translation, then the prompt gave me the opportunity to do it sooner.
