Writing Prompt: Comfort Zone

I need both routine planning  and laissez-faire  or spontaneity in my life.

Sometimes I have to follow a routine, spontaneity doesn’t work on such occasions, for e.g., I have to get up at a certain time in the morning to say my prayer. There are five times a day prayer I have to do. I cannot say it when it is convenient.

I have a specific time for supper,I follow that time table too.

But then again when it comes to writing I put it off till  I get into a mood for it. I am unable to have a specific time for it, I cannot force myself, if I do my mind is completely blank, and I don’t succeed anyway.

  1. Dear Ranu,

Thank you for this post. I find it the case also that, for some creative activities (e.g., writing), I can’t so much schedule it. It comes when it comes. Then again, for some other things, a self-disciplined schedule helps.

    All good wishes,

    robert

  2. Yes,certain things are better if they are dealt in a routine way and others not. Also,I guess it works differently for different people:-) For me,it is a combo of both too but no fixed or hard and fast rule-no strict adherence-like, usually I prefer to serve dinner between 9.45 -10.30 P.M-it can vary a bit but not too much.If there is too much routine and I am told to follow a time table,it kills my enthu:-)Am basically a free spirit 😛
