Daily Prompt: Three Coins in the Fountain

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

I never had the privilege of throwing three coins  in the fountain, there were no fountains near where I lived to toss a few coins. Besides if there were fountains, there were signs put up not to mess them up, never mind the coins, these were wealthy people who owned them, and they were not interested to to see pennies at the bottom.

But there was a place in Chittagong, Bangladesh, where I visited with my mother, they had a lot of red strings hanging from the branches of one tree.  There were stories told by people guarding the place  to make a wish and tie the knot. Also if our wish was fulfilled we must go back and untie the knot.

I remember tying a knot but couldn’t remember what my wish was and also I lived in a different town to untie the knot I’d have to go back by train , it takes four hours from my place . It didn’t happen. I did ask my mother how will I know which one was mine, she said it didn’t matter I could untie anyone. I get it, this is one way of making us untie at least  one knot so the next person wouldn’t have to untie  to tie a knot. Isn’t it  a smart thing?

Writing Prompt: Bedtime Stories

My favorite story book was Cinderella and her two horrible step sisters and her step mother. I always wondered how anyone can be so mean.

It was a fairy tale I knew but in real life these things happen too, when the father remarries and ignores the first wife’s kid.

There were things in the story that taught me to be fair to everyone, never to treat someone poorly, to be kind and unselfish.

The right stories do teach   children early in life why it’s a bad idea to be mean.

Writing Prompt :INTJ

Too much noise at parties makes me look for a place I can hide. I do not enjoy hearing everyone yelling to make their voices heard, I’ve been to parties where children are also invited and these kids yell so loud it almost makes me feel I’d be deaf in no time if I continue to experience this kind of noise.

I like parties where people are not so loud, everyone is enjoying themselves. Food is the main thing, when there is a variety, it becomes more fun to taste a bit of everything.

I also like it when I don’t have to stay at a party past my bed time.
