DP Daily Prompt:Because the Night
Are you a night owl or are you the early bird? What’s your most productive time of day? When do you do your best work?
Whenever I think of night owl I am reminded of that terrible night I stayed up till 1:30 am to study for a final exam. It was my room mate’s fault who reminded me my classmates study till two in the morning, I should do the same. I listened to her, when I went to the exam hall I forgot everything. Fate was on my side I recovered and was able to write my exam and passed the course.
I’m not a night person I cannot function after 10:30 pm. I dislike going to parties where they serve dinner at 10:00 pm., sometimes 11:00 pm which I think is ridiculous. For me night means sleep. There are people who work better at night, I’m not one of those.
I like to wake up bright and early. I get all my work done, I perform better too. I follow the phrase,”Early to bed early to rise makes a man/woman healthy wealthy and wise”. I do my best work during the day.

Dear Ranu,
Thank you for this post. I don’t know what I am, night-owl or early-bird. Perhaps both.
All good wishes,
robert
I’m definitely an early bird, I cannot stay up too late.
Thank you Robert for your comment.
I am a total night -owl-have always been and I guess always will remain so-no amount of trying can change that!I hate getting up in the mornings but if need be(and I have for all the years in high school and college and later almost 10 years of my daughter’s school-last two years she had reasonable timing-phew) but given a choice I would love to sleep in the day and work at night-so peaceful,no disturbance, lol!
I always love to go to sleep by 10:30 pm. It’s very seldom I stay up later.
My brain shuts off at night, see how different it is for me?
Thank God we are all different-life is thus more interesting 🙂
Yes Otherwise life would be boring.
Exactly!
Thank you Atreyee.
🙂
I am diurnal,Atreyee.
I’m both but I need to nap if I am going to stay up really late. I love your posts always refreshing.
Thank you but I wish I could write poetry like you.
I love reading and reciting it, I always thought, I can’t write it.
Once when my second daughter was in the fourth grade their homework was to use the twenty spelling
words in a poem. She waited till the last minute, told me couldn’t do it,so I had to write it for her. I wish I kept
that one.
I used to be a big morning person, but as I have gotten older, I’ve adapted to be able to be both. I, however, never voluntarily stay up past 23:30.
I learned a lesson by staying up later than I’m used to, I’m glad
I was able to pass the course I had in the morning.
Thank you Noah.
