DP Daily Prompt: Set for Solstice

pad2014-s.png (308×60) Today’s summer solstice the longest day of the year(in the northern Hemisphere). How are you taking advantage of the extra hours of light this time of the year? Do you like it, or already miss earlier sunsets?

I do like extra hours of light, there are so many things we can do, go for a walk, enjoy the sun outdoors and warm days.

Shorter days means the  cold days and nights and the dreaded winter.

Where I live the days are too short, the sunsets at 4 pm which is too early, I really do not look forward to shorter days. It means winter is close, the snow, the cold windy days scares me. We have to put on extra layers of clothing to stay warm.

What I really like is temperate climate , not too cold in the winter and not too hot in the summer.

365 days Writing Prompt: HA ha ha

Tell us a joke knock–knock joke, long story with an unexpected punchline, great zinger— all jokes are welcome.

There was a passenger aboard a bus, he didn’t know the local language except a few words, he thought the few words he knew would be quite sufficient for him.

As he was thinking he noticed his stop was not too far, he pondered about the two words he knew, one was “Girega” , meant fall and “hum” meaning I, feeling confident and proud of himself, he approached the driver, he looked out his stop was close and he didn’t make his move yet i.e didn’t tell the driver   his stop was close and that’s where he wanted to get off.

In   a moment of panic he yelled “hum girega” meaning I will fall.

The bus driver tried to calm him down and replied,”Nahin Babu tum nahin girega” meaning, ” No sir you won’t fall.”

This dialogue went on for a minute or two, realizing that he would miss his stop, the passenger jumped off the bus!
