DP Daily Prompts: Object Lesson

Sherlock Holmes had his pipe.Dorothy had her red shoes. Batman had his Batmobile. If we asked your friends what object they immediately associate with you, what would they answer?

If you ask my friends what object they immediately associate with me, they’ll be in a state of perplexity. I do not smoke a pipe, wear red shoes or have a Batmobile. They may not like to admit they cannot associate me with any object, rather than look foolish, they’d ask you to give them some time to think it over.

In the meantime I’d face a barrage of questions like, ‘Hey Ranu what object do you have that you go out with daily?’

This very question will make me aware they’re up to something, I’d throw the question right back at them. They’ve asked for some time to think over, they didn’t get the answer from me.

They make up their mind to ask my parents, it seems impossible, my parents are not visible anymore, they ask my cousins, they have no idea, they see me once in a while.

They didn’t want to give up, they get in touch with one of my teachers, unfortunately for them the teacher said, “I teach my students I do not look for anything that I can associate them with, you’ve come to the wrong person, goodbye.”

The friends are tired and embarrassed, they do not want to accept defeat, one of them said, “We associate her with her, “Smile!”
