Tagore song posted and translated by ranu

Sunlight is peering through the clouds,

It’s not cloudy anymore.

We have a holiday today,

I don’t know what to do.

Which forest shall we choose to get lost?

Which playground shall we choose to run,

I will make a boat with paper,

and decorate it with flowers.

I’ll set it afloat in the large pond,

And watch it swing and float.

The shepherd and I will look after the cattle

and blow the horn.

I will roll in the jasmine bushes,

and smear myself with the scent of flowers!

DP Daily Prompt: Bookish Choice

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

A literary minded witch gives you a choice with the flick of the wand, you can become either an obscure novelist whose work will be admired  and studied by a select few for decades, or a popular paperback author  whose books give pleasure to millions. Which do you choose?

I’d be happy to be a paperback author. The fact my books will make millions happy is something I’d choose. These days life is hard, people need something that will entertain them,a paperback  book will help them read  it is cheaper and if it contains good stuff , they will influence others to read.

It will keep me busy I’d think of writing about everything the readers like and I’ll never be bored, I’d be writing.

365 Writing Prompts: Life line

You’re on a long flight, and a palm reader sitting next to you insists she read your palm. You hesitate, but agree. What does she tell you?

I am skeptical about letting anyone reading my palm, the palm reader was  adamant, I gave in. She held my palm and gave me a lesson on what the lines are called. I was irritated but tried to be cordial, I waited for her to start reading my palm.

She started reading my palm, she told me the number of brothers and sisters I had, what they do for a living, that my mom raised us, my father passed away when I was very young. By this time I felt she really is a palm reader and a good one.

She asked me if she could continue, by this time my curiosity increased I said , “Please do.”

Among other things she said I’d settle in a country other than my own, when I asked her how she knew that, she said there is a line that shows it.

She was planning to say more, the announcement from the flight attendant that the flight was about to land, and we should fasten our seat belts and put our seats in the upright position made her stop which left me wondering, where I’d live?
