What makes a good story teller, in your opinion? Are your favorite story tellers people you know or writers you admire?

In my estimation,a good story teller is one who can maintain the attention of his audience till the end of a story.

My favorite story tellers are writers I admire. One of them is Roald Dahl, his stories are meant for children, but adults love them too. One good example is me.

I read many stories written by him, the best one is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The kids I taught were so enthralled by it every day the first thing they said  was , can you  read Charlie and the  chocolate factory?

His other equally fascinating book is ,”James and the Giant Peach.”I think I liked this one more than the kids.

My second favorite author is, Gordon Korman, the titles he chose for his books was extraordinary,l he has the gift. Who wouldn’t be interested if the title was ,”I Want To Go Home”, or “This can’t be happening  at Macdonald Hall.”

Gordon Korman wrote his first book when he was in grade seven, his teacher asked the students to write an essay in class, Gordon wrote ,”This Can’t be happening at Macdonald Hall.” The teacher loved it so much ,he told him to get it published. Scholastics Book Company published it,instantly Gordon became famous.

There are other story writers  I admire, but these two are my favorite!

365 Writing Prompts: I have confidence in me

Are you good at what you do? What would you like to be better at?

I think I am good at teaching, I know that because I was able to keep my jobs. I was liked by the students I taught. My superiors did not doubt my ability.

I really would like to be good at languages, maybe I’m not serious enough, could be the reason why I did not get better at French. I did a few courses in Spanish, my teacher liked my progress and encouraged me to continue but I did not, although I liked Spanish better than French, I think Spanish is easier it doesn’t have silent letters like  in French.

Right now I am doing online courses, to learn about Iqbal the poet and philosopher, I’m enjoying it a lot and I  want to do well in it.

I am told I am doing quite well in the course, my goal is to do better than, “quite well.”
