DP Daily Prompts: In Due Time
What’s your next, most pressing deadline? Are you stressed, excited or ambivalent about it? What’s the first thing you’d like to do once you’re done with it?
I cannot write how long I’ve had this deadline, i.e, clearing out my basement, every year I make up my mind to do it, something or someone gets in my way and I’m left with the same problem of a basement that’s crying out loud,”when will you have time to make me look presentable?”
Perhaps I’ll never find the kind of time when I’d want to clear it.
Winter is upon us and clearing involves taking out things out of this area, the city will start taking the trash or unwanted rubbish only in Spring, I have to wait till my turn comes to put all the things I cannot use on my lawn at the back.
In the mean time I will make up a list of things that are in the basement, which need to vacate the area they’re occupying.
I’m eagerly waiting for Spring to carry out my plan to make my basement squeaky clean. Some might say they doubt it will ever happen, but I have faith which alone will help me.
What’s the first thing I’ll do once I’m done with it, I’m sure going to have a day of prayer, thank God Almighty for giving me the strength to complete this arduous task. I’ll let my feline roll on the floor which is his greatest desire, he did not get the chance yet, he cries every day because we do not let him go to a place full of mess.
The last thing which is the fun part, I’ll have some decent furniture, arrange them and have a party with friends and neighbors.
I hope it does not turn out like the milkmaid story of building castles in the air!

Dear Ranu,
I like this post, as it describes life, that is, struggling with things, accomplishing things, and giving thanks to the Giver of all Strength.
Thank you!
All good wishes,
robert
Dear Robert,
Thank you, I need a lot of motivation to fix my basement.
