Murphy’s Law says, “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.” Write about a time everything did- fiction encouraged here, too!

Bonus Assignments: do you keep a notebook next to your bed? Good. Tomorrow morning jot down the first thought you have upon waking, whether or not it’s coherent.

Yesterday I got ready to go to the medical center for my flu’ shot. I did not check the bus schedule or the temperature outside, not a clever thing to do.Murphy’s Law means to be aware and I was not, I was sure I was going out at the right time to catch the bus.In my mind the bus would arrive at 12.30 pm.

There was no sign of the bus, it was an extremely cold and windy day. The bus schedule was what I thought it was, but it arrived at 1 pm.

I boarded the bus hoping the next one would be there (MUN Centre) when I arrive. There was no sign of the bus and I had to bear with the extreme cold temperature. When I saw there was another bus not the one I was waiting for, I went over, asked the bus driver about route no. 14, she told me  I’d have to wait another five minutes. This was after forty five minutes of waiting. I checked  my watch five minutes had passed. I kept wondering if going on a day like this was worth the flu’ shot I was going to get.

I arrived at the health centre at 1.55 pm, my appointment was at 2 pm. I was called in after a few minutes of waiting.

I checked the bus schedule, it said 2.30 pm , I was delighted I’d reach home by 3 pm. But the bus arrived at 3.45 pm which meant I was freezing outside.

I did not dress warm enough, I really could not tell how cold it was in my warm home.

The last bus I took was at 4.05 pm. The bus driver sat and waited for God knows whom. When he finally  decided to start moving I breathed a sigh of relief. It took about fifteen minutes to reach my stop. My watch indicated it was  4.30 pm I got off and hurried home. By this time  I was cold, hungry and tired!

I had gone for flu’ shots before, I did not have this much trouble getting the right bus.

Daily Prompts: Fright Night

pad2015-s1.png (308×60)

What’s the last thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?

Winter to me can be very scary, the blizzard, ice on the pavement, driveway and  streets; keeps me from going out. I’m contented to stay home, rather than walk on ice.

The news on the radio about slippery roads and that the citizens should be careful, frightens me. My biggest fear is falling and breaking my arms or legs, this fear in me is the reason why I prefer to stay  indoors.

I cannot believe there is anything that can possibly make me walk on ice unassisted.
