Writing 101, Day Four: A story in a single image
Crowd in transit station
For this use one of the images above as the creative spark for today’s post. You might use as the setting for a story or poem, write about how it makes you feel, or describe a memory conjured by it.
A crowd in transit station
Brings back memories of yesteryear
When I was a student with no care
Moving along without hesitation!
………………………………………………….
How wonderful those days had been
Makes me think if I could go back
And feel the warmth and view the scene
What more could I want from life’s sack!
………………………………………..
But my mind tells me to look
For my future and not the past
As wonderful as it was I should let it off the hook
It’s best to move on and see what comes at last!
…………………………………………
Here I am today, watching travelers
Carrying over-sized bags and their umbrellas
In a hurry to get in before other passengers
I wish I can say, no worries fellas!
…………………………………………….
There will be more trains
For you to get on board
If you miss this one do not strain
Be calm trust me you I assure!
……………………….. 🙂
This is lovely and a perfect response to the picture you chose. Well done.
Thank you Joan. 🙂

Dear Ranu,
Thank you for sharing this post. I like it a lot. I like your introspective approach, looking back on things, looking forward to things.
All good wishes,

Dear Robert,
Thank you so much for your nice comment. 🙂
Your perspective today made me breathe easier. I like your blog format also; good imagery, so organized and easy to follow. Well done! (Oh, and thank you for stopping by What’s Next!)
Thank you Roo, I appreciate hearing from you. 🙂
A student with no cares and seemingly all the time in the world may one day become the racing adult with no time to spare.
I agree ,Kathy. I was carefree then but now I’m not, there are too many responsibilities which keep my mind busy. 🙂
Me too. Kids, work, house, bills, etc, etc, etc. It’s why I keep telling my son to enjoy high school.
Yes Kathy it’s a good advice, I know I enjoyed my childhood, which is why I continuously go back to those days. 🙂
My dearest sister,
Thanks for sharing these delightful verses. I especially liked:
“Brings back memories of yesteryear
When I was a student with no care”
They make me recall some beautiful memories from my student days 🙂
Thank you my dearest brother. 🙂
