Daily Prompt: Climate Control

The idea that the weather and people’s moods are connected is quite old. Do You agree? If yes how does the weather affect your mood?

I do agree the weather and the people’s moods are connected. On a bright sunny day , I see happy faces, the people move around and greet each other. The first thing  they’d say to their  friends or strangers is, “The weather is lovely , isn’t it!”

Weather always affects my mood, it ruins my enthusiasm to do anything, when it is raining or there is a blizzard. I’m always grumpy, I think I could have gone out if it was not raining or snowing. Actually I don’t always go out. It’s an excuse for me to stay home. I’d complain, ” see I cannot go out because of this terrible weather.

It’s my human characteristic, I blame the weather, but I refuse to say, “I’m lazy to go out.”

But I cannot let the weather off the hook either, continuous rain or snow makes me irritable, I dislike looking out the window when there is a snowstorm. The thought of huge piles of snow makes me worried, how will I clear the snow off the driveway, is  my  major concern. Then when the snow turns to ice,I’m terrified of going out because if I fall I’d break my leg or hurt my back. These thoughts take away my patience!

  1. Dear Ranu,

Thank you for this post. As I read about your dislike for winter weather, I see snowflakes on my computer screen :-).

    All good wishes,

    robert

  2. Once I fell on ice, I stood up fell again and then for the 3rd fall. It was the first time I experienced winter and I didnt realise I needed boots with grips. It was so painful….ouch!

  3. Even though I do not like to walk outside in the rain or snow – I do love winters haha. I love the cold weather – to stay at home with some homemade herbal tea, nice & cozy! But of course, warm weather also has it charms, the playfulness of the sun and to be able to go out without wearing a coat! ❤
