EDGE

One day I could not find a very important card, I was on edge, I could not talk to anyone, I was frightened beyond words. For three days I prayed and asked God to help me find it.

A card that can fit on your palm can give so much anxiety, on the third day I started looking, I saw the case of a videotape without the tape, what was amazing my picture was in it, I looked and thought no I don’t think it’s here, my inner voice told me to look any way. I opened the case took out my photo and to my surprise saw the card. Why would I put it in such a place was my question, I couldn’t think of an answer, except my prayer worked.

The word FRIVOLOUS reminds me of people who are always thinking of fame without working for it. We know nothing comes easy, one needs to put in the effort to succeed.

It reminds me of a tale I read when I was in primary school. I think it was about a milkmaid and her pail, she was daydreaming how she would churn butter with the milk, sell it to the market and would buy eggs, which would hatch into chickens, her yard would be full, she’d sell them and with the money buy a new dress, she’d wear the dress which would make her look  so pretty, all the young men would ask her hand in marriage, she’d decline them all, then she nodded her head and the pail went flying and the milk spilled all over on the ground, with it her dream.

It was silly of her, but we humans do daydream therefore the moral of the story, “Do not count your chickens before they are hatched.” It  should teach us about our foolish dreams!
