Goodreads 2016 book reading challenge

The 2016 book reading challenge motivated me to enter, I was not too confident I could read a lot of books. To enable me to achieve success I pledged to read 25 books.

I started on January 4th and completed reading 25 books on May 8th. During this time I read all sorts of books, some were amazing, some were scary, and there were some I read because among the books I had to include those that had  bad reviews.

Here is a list of books I read:

1.The Miracle of Mindfulness: An introduction to the practice of meditation, written by Thich Nhat Hanh and translated by Moby Ho

  1. Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand

  2. Eleven Minutes by Paolo Coelho

  3. The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffennegger

  4. Far from the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy

  5. The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

7.Reading Lolita in Tehran (A memoir in books) by Azar Nafisi

  1. The end of the Affair by Graham Greene

  2. Lolita By Vladimir Nabokov

  3. The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald

11.Angels and Demons by Dan Brown

  1. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

  2. My Antonia by Willa Cather

  3. Hand me Down World by Lloyd Jones

  4. Atonement By Ian Mcewan

  5. The lost Symbol by Dan Brown

  6. God in Every Stone by Kamila Shamsie

  7. Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys

  8. To Kill A mockingbird by Harper Lee

  9. The Dark Chamber by  Rabindranath Tagore

  10. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

  11. Broken Verses by Kamila Shamsie

  12. Catcher in the Rye by J.D.Salinger.

  13. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

  14. George Orwell 1984

Among all the above books I read I  found George Orwell’s 1984 the scariest.

I will keep reading but at a very slow pace , my next book is J.K. Rowling Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone.
