The Daily Post: Pleasure
In response to daily post’s prompt : Pleasure
I felt very pleased today when I realized I have five more fasting days left. It’ll be a real pleasure to celebrate Eid ul Fitr knowing I have earned it. I know we are only expected to fast one month, which is not that much seeing we have 12 months in a year.
It helps to discipline our eating habits, and certainly controls fast food. There is one more important thing it teaches us to feel for countless number of people and do what we can to help those who are starving day and night because of poverty.
Eid ul Fitr is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic Holy month of fasting. Eid is an Arabic word which means,”Festivity,” while Fitr means to break the fast. It is celebrated on the first day of the Islamic month Shawwal.
