Daily Prompt : Promises

In response to daily post’s prompt : Promises

Make no promises you cannot keep

Do not change and let others weep

You will lose trust

And vanish like dust

Why make promises you cannot keep!

Word Press : Radically Authentic

Radically Authentic

I try to be as authentic as possible. I do not like to be two personalities depending on where I am. I am no different outside my home. When I think about my clothes, they have to be presentable when I meet people outside my home and at home.

For me it’s better to be my real self, I am happy to be the way I am. I use no make up it’s just plain me, yes I do use face cream to protect my skin.

I never question myself, ‘should I be happy?’ I am happy. There are times I am unhappy when I hear my daughter is not treated well. I think it’s okay to be  unhappy under these circumstances.

I have no problem with people who have better looking car or home or anything else. I’m satisfied with what I have.

I have a few blogger friends who read my posts and leave their comment. I’m grateful because they take the time to express their opinion.

I’m never sure of those who click the like button on my posts, it leaves a question in my mind, do they really like it, if true, why won’t they leave a comment?

I grew up in a home where my older sister was all about wearing matching clothes, I think she devoted a lot of energy thinking, do I look pretty, will my friends like me? I never cared what my friends will think if I didn’t wear fashionable clothes.

One of my teacher’s once questioned me when I told her who my sister was, she started by saying, ‘Is she your half sister, step sister, is she really your sister?

My reply was, “Sister Rose, she is my real sister, not half or step.”

She had that unbelievable look on her face, one that said, ‘I’m sure she is not telling the truth.’

One of our family friend’s nephew after meeting us said, ‘WOW! You two are positive and negative.’

After this one would think she probably went home and changed her wardrobe to emulate her sister. I did none of that. Sure I loved wearing pretty clothes once in a while, but to do it all the time, was something I’d never do.

This is me, Ranu( nickname) Chaman( the real name). I could not be more authentic even if I tried!
