Daily Post : Subdued

In response to daily post’s one-word prompt : Subdued

A few months ago a devastating fire burned several homes and made the citizens homeless in Fort McMurray, Alberta,Canada. I watched the uncontrollable fire on TV.

I imagined how depressed and dejected the people there felt. Natures fury makes us subdued for there is nothing else we can do, but pray and hope, the fire will soon be extinguished.

The citizens of Canada did their part, they donated money, food and blankets.

Red Cross did a fine job of raising money and distributing it to the people.

Fall is here and it wouldn’t be long when we’ll face the cold winter accompanied by snow, freezing rain. I’m always scared of slipping on the ice, which is why I do not think of going  out. I get depressed thinking we’d have a blizzard, we’ll lose power and the result would be no heat and the danger of pipes freezing.

It brings to mind what about those unfortunate people who are homeless, how will they survive the cold winter? It is a sad situation!
