In response to daily post’s one-word prompt : Urgent
Last week, I received an invitation to a wedding, it’s on November 5th. The cards were sent out on the 20th September. It was urgent to send replies by 24th September. Unfortunately my card came twelve days later. I could not meet the deadline. We were required to post our intention online. I simply checked ‘not attending.’
I could not explain why I was not attending. To be courteous I called the mother and explained why I won’t be attending. I know internet is a quick way of letting ones intention known, I thought checking attending and not, is rather a cold way of letting the inviter know my reply.
