In response to daily post’s one-word prompt :Waiting
Waiting is a fact of life, it teaches us patience. After all we cannot move endlessly. It’s always a good idea to stop. When we get impatient if there is a delay for anything, for e.g delay in eating because your mom took a break, so the cooking started later than usual. Instead of gobbling up a whole bunch of junk food, one can drink water, read a book, watch a program on TV. It’s one way of calming ones hunger pains.
Most of us travel to distant places, perhaps by train,bus or private cars and the plane. We cannot be sure at all times we’ll reach our destination on time.
The train may arrive late, the tire of the bus may be punctured, our private car may have engine trouble and a plane goes through all kinds of problems, fog, hurricane, blizzard, these are major weather problems. It’s always a good idea to wait.
I think waiting needs a lot of patience. Once I was waiting for my husband to pick me up, I don’t know how long it was I went inside the school building to call a cab, the cab came instantly, as soon as I sat inside. The cab driver said, ‘O look your husband is here to pick you up.’
I looked at him and said, ‘Do you mind?’
We lived in a small town, the cab driver knew us, he said, ‘No I don’t mind, you can go.’
