Daily Prompt: Banned

In response to daily post’s one word prompt : Banned

Cecilia was excited she saw an ad in the magazine about a fantastic cookbook, it will forever fix her problem of cooking delicious meals to entertain her friends and family.

She was ready to go to the bookstore to buy the book. On her way she had a few obstacles on the roads, the road close to the store was closed for repairs, she had to use the detour. She kept telling herself to calm down, she’d get the book without any problem, after all how many people would go this early to buy a cookbook.

When she reached the bookstore she saw a large sign on the entrance, “Cookbook Banned!”

‘What!’ She said, ‘it can’t be.’

Someone in the store heard her and asked, ‘Can I help you madam?’

‘Yes!’ she said, ‘Why is this cookbook banned, I came to buy it, what’s wrong?’

The store clerk said, ‘I’m sorry Miss, there seems to be a problem with it!’

Daily Prompt : Transformation

In response to daily post’s prompt : Transformation

She disliked her hair, not knowing what to do she went to the hairdresser and asked her to shorten it. Next thing she needed to change was the way she dressed, ‘These baggy clothes look horrible,’ she yelled.

Next morning she went to the most expensive store in the city, bought the finest fitting clothes. She came home wore her new clothes, something was missing, she looked in the mirror and said, ‘I still look plain, maybe I need to go to a beauty salon.’

She called the salon and was lucky to get an appointment  immediately.

The lady she met at the salon was the best in the city. She  advised her client  to be seated while she gathered her tools to make her customer as pretty as possible.

It took almost an hour for the make-up artist to transform the face of her client. When it was done everyone in the salon wanted to take a photo of the pretty customer.

They asked in unison, ‘What’s your name?’

She replied, ‘It’s Sophie.’

‘Sophie?’ they said, ‘you are beautiful.’

Sophie could not wait to go home and look in the mirror, when she reached home, she brushed her hair put on her lovely outfit, she stood in front of the mirror and yelled, ” Sophie my dear your transformation is complete. You are no longer plain, congratulations.”

And from then on  she lived happily ever after!
