Daily Prompt : Glitter
In response to daily post’s one-word prompt : Glitter
Whenever I hear of the freezing rain
I think of glittering trees from my windowpane
I hear nature’s warning loud and clear
‘Get ready with artificial lights my dear.’
………………………….
Immediately I get ready with my flashlights
Trying to avoid the dark with all my might
Then this ghastly truth makes me whine
What will I eat when it’s time to dine?
………………………………..
My stove needs electricity to cook
without it I cannot try to nuke
So what’s the only thing for me to do
Eat cold bread and yesterday’s stew!
…………………………………….. 😦
Dear Ranu,
Great rhyming!
Thank goodness for cold bread and yesterday’s stew! 🙂
All good wishes,
robert
Dear Robert,
Thank you, sometimes I do not know how to do these prompts. Writing a story takes too long,
I’m not sure who’d be interested to read it. So I take the path of poetry, although it has its drawback too. 🙂
clever – that freezing stuff is not my favorite either. Cold and cold
Dear Leslie,
Thank you so much for your comment. 🙂
Indeed, that is a question that could glitter even in the dark!
