Daily Prompt: Unmoored
In response to one-word prompt : Unmoored
when I lost my dad at a very young age, I felt we were unmoored. My Dad was the anchor who held us together, with his passing what will be our fate?
Some of the relatives who visited us regularly disappeared. There was no one in sight who gave us any kind of encouragement.
Those who came forward told my mom to get the girls married regardless of our young age, it according to them would relieve my mom of the burden of raising all of us.
My mom ignored their advice. She was ready to face the challenge. My mom told us, ‘Whatever God does is good for us.’
This was something which was way over my intelligence, I kept quiet, one of my brothers did not agree.
I guess God wanted us to be independent, which we became because we knew we have to help ourselves. It worked out in the end.
So well written. The same thing happened to me as a child.
Thank you so much. 🙂
