Daily Prompt : Zoo

In response to prompt : Zoo

Our Christmas parties was one of chaos,

I did not want to brand  it famous.

I feel parties should not sound like a zoo,

Holidays are special it is relaxing for you.

A year’s hard work  brings relief and peace,

It is a time when racism must cease !

Daily Prompt : Snippet

In response to prompt:  Snippet

The aroma of the cake was so inviting to me,

A mere snippet of it could not satiate you see.

I went for the hunk of the  cake on display,

I was ready to pay anything without sway.

I brought it home to show my unbelievable prize,

My family didn’t believe I’d pay that much for its size.

At the end of the day I’d tell anyone who’d listen,

You would not think of the size or price if you’re smitten!

Daily Prompt : Gremlins

In response to prompt :  Gremlins

We have three felines, two Siamese male and one Tabby we named Sophie. I always refer to them as Gremlins.

The Siamese have no visible imperfection. We named them Rafael and Gabriel. Rafael shows his temper by his harsh meow, but his brother’s voice sounds like a musical note, even if he is upset.

Our Tabby Sophie came  from Bell Island, when she was less than eight weeks old. I saw her in the pet store and decided to adopt her. She has some flaw with her voice, I’m not sure what happened when she roamed the island with one other feline.

The SPCA brought her to the city and put her up for adoption. Before this she spent time  with foster families. I have no idea if her defective vocal cord was due to birth defect or something else.

She is a very intelligent and happy feline, she gets along fine with Rafael.

The most important dwelling for humans and insects and animals is their nest,

Humans have a few names, such as, mansion, palace, house, hut or igloo.

Insects call theirs, cobwebs, bee-hive, while animals have their nest, den and more,

Each of us are comfortable spending our daily lives in our abode.

Rich or poor, man or woman, animal or insect we prize our possession,

Not realizing we all are here temporarily and not to get attached with it.

We are creatures of habit and we love to think this is our final destination!

Daily Prompt : Sludge

In response to one-word prompt : Sludge

I watched in horror the kid playing with sludge,

His clothes were dirty and his face looked like fudge.

I said, ‘I think your mom will take you to task,

For allowing yourself to wear this weird mask.’

‘No miss, he interrupted, she’s used to see,

My face  covered with muck oozing out of me.’

‘Really, I said, your mom seems to have good humor,

I’m not sure I’d enjoy looking at my kid’s face  and check my temper!’
