My kids complained the substitute wasn’t cool
I said, ‘you come to school to learn,
The purpose of school is learn to earn!’

In response to prompt : Neighbors
I have good neighbors on my street,
They don’t forget to bring me treat.
No wonder we always love them,
For they’ll help us if we need them!

In response to prompt : Simmer
To simmer the meat I turned down the heat,
The heat was so low the meat wasn’t good to eat.
I learned my lesson and tried the second time,
Hoping to correct my mistake I added thyme.
It still did not work out as well as I thought,
So I went back to basics with the meat I bought!
