Daily Prompt : Proclivity
In response to one-word Prompt : Proclivity
I have a proclivity to watch children whom I teach,
One thing I noticed they have their likes and dislikes.
One year I noticed a girl assigned to me hated school,
I told the principal, ‘I think I’ll have problems with her.”
He looked at me in awe, ‘but you didn’t start teaching yet,’
‘I know,’ I said, ‘my sixth sense alerts me she’d give me trouble.’
He advised me to see her parents, he said, ‘they will cooperate.’
I saw the parents, talked to them, they smiled and looked at each other.
This is what they said, ‘We are surprised, because it’s true,
she really hates school!’
…………………………. 🙂
Dear Ranu,
Thank you for this nice story.
Like the young girl in your story, I disliked school. Once in college, though, I loved all the learning!
All good wishes,
robert
Dear Robert,
Thank you at least you started liking it.
I skipped school when I couldn’t complete my homework
and made some lame excuse of a headache.
My Dad didn’t question my motive, but my
older sister used to yell and tell Dad
he was spoiling me! 🙂
Thans for sharing 🙂 It is amazing how our sixth sense informs us sometimes. The parents must have been really surprised.
Thank you Shafique,
I do have the habit and curiosity of watching all the kids I taught. I loved them like my own children. 🙂
