Guilty As Charged!
Two days in a row Alice baked cookies for a bake sale. She put them in a cookie jar. She noticed one jar showed less cookies than she had filled.
She called her son Stephen to find out if he had seen his sister Helen quietly eating the cookies.
Stephen walked in and immediately pleaded innocence. Mom he said, ‘I swear I did not eat the missing cookies.’
Alice looked at him and replied, ‘How do you know I’ll ask about the cookies?’
Stephen’s face turned red, ‘I thought you called me to find out.’
‘I can see a cookie thief in front of me,’ said Alice, ‘you better admit or you’ll be grounded for a week for lying.’
A week for eating a few cookies, it’s not fair Mom, but the politicians lie all the time why aren’t they grounded, they don’t steal cookies they steal money, no one punishes them!
Alice did not expect this and replied, ‘I’m teaching you a lesson, so you do not tell lies or eat cookies without permission, and when you grow up you will not lie or steal. At this moment You are guilty as charged!

Dear Ranu,
Thank you for this post. You make a good point. Our public leaders should have deep characters, centered on ethical leadership. Leading in such a manner contributes to good decisions and to influencing our young people in a positive direction.
All good wishes,
robert
Dear Robert,
You’ve made a good point, our kids watch TV and know how adults who are supposed to set a good example are not. Some may think it’s ok to tell a lie. 🙂
