song; bhalobeshe shokhi, posted and translated by Ranu

My dear friend,

Write my name in the,

temple of your heart with,

love and care.

teach your feet,

the rhythm of the song in my heart.

Hold on lovingly to,

my talkative bird in your,

palace courtyard.

Leave the colored thread,

I gave you,

tied to your gold bracelet.

Tie one bud of my,

creeping plant in the,

curl of your hair.

put one dot of red powder,

on your forehead,

in my memory.

Smear the sweetness of my heart,

on your form.

Take everything,

I have for your,

Matchless Glory!

Tagore Song; dheere dheere, singer Sreya, posted and translated by Ranu

Softly, softly blow

O restless breeze.

Midnight’s flute is playing,

Quietly blow O restless breeze.

I am a tiny flame of the lamp,

Because of you,

I fearfully stay awake alone.

Whisper quietly what is on your mind,

O restless breeze.

your string of verse,

in the forest lands,

in the corner of my house.

I have something to say,

to the early morning star.

I’d like to secretly whisper,

To you O restless breeze!

I received a mint plant from a good friend,

I planted it outside so it could grow.

That it’ll survive the winter I didn’t pretend,

Patiently I waited for the spring to know,

If my plant had braved the rough weather,

It stood  tall though it was light as a feather.

……………………………..

Daily I watch its growth and dance in glee,

I tell it, ‘I know you’d hang on for me.’

Meanwhile I notice more mints are spreading,

Sometimes  dogs may trample them I’m dreading.

……………………………………

Some day I’d like to ask the botanist,

If he’d help me because he’s a specialist.

A mint plant to me is very special,

I’ll need it to make my food tasteful!

Beautiful Shalimar gardens

You are awesome indeed.

Emperor Shah Jahan built it for Royal Pleasure,

Now   you are  Pakistan’s treasure!

……………………………

Channels of water in your gardens are fed by canals,

Your Gardens are divided into terraces,

Upper one is the Bestower of Pleasure,

The middle is Bestower of Goodness,

The lower is Bestower of Life,

I hope these names do not cause a strife!

…………………………..

I saw you when I was a student,

I couldn’t take a shot of you,

I didn’t have a camera.

This is why I have an image of you from wikipedia!

I  was happy when I met my cousins for the first time.

I was  happy to know my grandpa had an amazing garden of fruit trees.

I was happy my cousins were happy to meet me.

It was fun meeting my cousins but sad thinking I won’t see grandpa.

It was fun plucking the fruits but unhappy knowing I won’t see grandpa.

When I visited the village it hurt me to know that I won’t see grandpa!

Life gives us pleasure but tells us our life is complete if we can endure pain!
