Poetry, Day Ten : Future(theme: Sonnet)

I’m looking for a new tomorrow

When we’re happy and never sad

The scientists will remove our sorrow

By inventing a vaccine that’ll make us glad

That day will come I kid you not

Have patience don’t be restless

Our elders use these words a lot

Let faith give you happiness

Do your duty follow the rule

Wear your mask don’t complain

This is one way of looking cool

I assure you it’s how you’d gain

Show the virus you’re smarter

That you can get rid of it forever!

Lady Irwin Was my first school,

Teachers were friendly and cool.

I learned English,Math,and Bengali,

The school was started in New Delhi.

Here I learned the national anthem,

We memorized it when we were young.

Behind the large gates we often walked,

Pooris for sale she lovingly called.

Then Bengali lesson my teacher announced,

I have pictures for you all to write a story,

Let’s see if you are ready to work my dear-ie.

I loved this school because of the great teachers,

I know you’d love those God’s awesome creatures.

A long road, running in to the horizon

Our Journey from St. John’s, NL to Waterville Maine, USA

We started our journey in the summer season,

The heat was intensive it  felt  like we’re in an oven

Hubby the driver loved speeding like a bullet

I  warned  if he  broke the rules, he’s in for a ticket

He told me to quit being a backseat driver

Or take the wheels and let him drink some cider

We reached Port Aux Basques and got a ferry

The thunder-like sound  made me eerie

Fortunately the ride was short as a nanosecond

Longer ride would make us deaf as nana Diamond

Our drive continued till we reached Maine

A neighbour greeted us at the door with a key chain!

I imagine I’d write a great sonnet one day,

But today is not the day I’m afraid.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll be able to say,

Hurrah I have sharpened my mind’s blade.

It’s working like a  charm because I prayed.

………………………………………..

Because of my optimism I might achieve my goal,

Follow my example do not be delayed,

By anything that can put you in the hole,

Do not let your intention known to any soul,

The game of life is complicated indeed,

What matters is how you play your role,

If you are interested to succeed!

………………………………….

Now that you’ve learned the game of life,

Make sure you conquer it without a strife!

Landscape — Shalimar Gardens

Iphone5_(6386).JPG (3264×2448)

Beautiful Shalimar Gardens,

You are awesome indeed.

Emperor Shah Jahan built it for Royal Pleasure,

Now   you are  Pakistan’s treasure!

……………………………

Channels of water in your gardens are fed by canals,

Your Gardens are divided into terraces,

Upper one is the Bestower of Pleasure,

The middle is Bestower of Goodness,

The lower is Bestower of Life,

I hope these names do not cause a strife!

…………………………..

I saw you when I was a student,

I couldn’t take a shot of you,

I didn’t have a camera.

This is why I have an image of you from wikipedia!

Happiness  is going to beautiful  Montreal,

Happiness is  using the  subway and eating at the Mall.

Happiness is going to the Eaton Center,

Happiness is paying for the stuff with my quarters.

Happiness  is telling the sales girl, I can’t speak French,

Happiness  is asking the girl if I can sit on the bench.

This week in Paris

Listen young Harris

Number 1 can change

If Murray wins the title

And Djokovic does not reach the final!

……………………………

I’m sure Djokovic is not ready,

To hand over Top Spot.

Murray is now Red Hot,

Doesn’t matter

whether Djokovic is ready or not!

……………………….

The Scot trails the Serbian,

By only four hundred fifteen points,

Jo Willie Tsonga the third in line,

May spoil Murray’s chances,

by avenging his defeat in Vienna,

I tell you that’ll teach Andy a lesson!

…………………………..

But Djokovic is the one who controls his fate,

All he has to do is reach the final,

Leaving Murray looking angry at his mate,

For her  prayer  could not win him the title!

I’m dreaming of a  bright  tomorrow

When the world will be a safer place

There will be no cause for sorrow

All around we’ll see  a smiling  face

Is it tough to see a future like that

When man will respect his fellow man

I’m hopeful it will happen be sure of that

All we have to believe is yes we can

Let us all work together

Make our tomorrows better

Faith and hard work is what we need

If we can for once give up greed

We must strive  hard for peace

And pray so that  wars will cease!

My Street

Often when I walk on your street

I cannot express  how proud I feel

To be a part of your gorgeous turf!

………………………

I spent eons living here

your size makes me aware

I cannot imagine to be elsewhere!

…………………………

Traffic on your lane is low

Which makes me feel  safe

as a pedestrian you know!

………………………

Other roads are not as calm

I’d choose no other

for living here is a soothing  balm!
