Summer is here, let us have a feast,

Summer is here, it’s time to barbecue,

Summer is here, fresh meat, and fish, and veggies too.

Summer is here, it’s time to enjoy  long days,

Summer is here, let us go  and watch the outdoor plays.

Summer is here, do not waste your time,

Summer is here, breathe all the fresh air it doesn’t cost a dime!

Wimbledon Tennis June 2016- July 2016

He has won three other grand slams,

need I say more?

This year’s championship is in his pocket,

He didn’t even score.

Why are the pundits so   sure ,

Because he won two in a row?

……………………………………

Let us talk about the others,

Who think they can win,

Like Andy, Stan, and Alexander,

Or did you discard Federer,

The grass court king?

………………………………..

Watch the male players in white

Who have come to fight.

To watch the  grand  trophy

You must wait young Sophie.

………………………………..

Let’s not give it away before it’s time,

We have to wait for the bells to chime.

Let’s wait and watch each day,

Who is determined to stay.

To run away with the trophy this onetime!

There are many scenes passing,

me by, when I look out,

my window.

The lawn care fellows,

mowing and raking, the lawn.

My neighbor’s,

tree covered, with leaves

blocking, my view.

The sky looks,

overcast, a quiet,

breeze, blowing the leaves.

The air must be

cool, I’m feeling

cold, it’s time for me,

to wear something warm.

Empty_Chakbazar_Road_in_Comilla,_2_Dec,_2011.jpg (1600×1200)

I’ve made countless journey on this road

It was impassable when the flood overflowed

It looked more like a river and less like a road

This was the story I was often told!

…………………………….

Comilla brings back memories when I was a child

Our days were filled with laughter,

When we behaved like animals in the wild.

Mom warned she’d take over,

If we didn’t stop acting like animals in the wild!

……………………………………

There were hardly much traffic on this road,

Which is why we chose to to be so bold.

We ran in the middle we jogged on the side,

It made mom crazy watching us glide!

…………………………………….

We said, mom, “the road is as quiet as a mouse,

Do not worry you stay in the house.”

Did she listen to us, of course she did not?

She dragged us in even if we fought!

…………………………………………

This was my town which I miss

I’m sure I won’t find another so bliss.

It was as peaceful like the truce,

where no one ever  dared to abuse!

…………………………………. 🙂

Poetry, Day Ten: Future

Poetic form: Sonnet

Tomorrow God willing I will not complain,

My toothache will leave and I will be sane.

Time is short there is so much to do,

My tooth hurts how will I chew?

I must not procrastinate,

But gather clothes to donate,

I must leave them on my front door,

I hope we won’t have snow anymore.

Once I get this chore done,

I will sit and have some fun.

I wish to watch some quality tennis,

My favorite player is Milos Raonic.

I hope he can serve his best,

And ends up  scaring all  the rest.

…………………………………..:)

My blogger friends day ten is complete,

Won’t you  read my poem before you retreat? 🙂

Thanks to the members  of the WordPress team,

For giving us this  marvelous  opportunity to gleam! 🙂

It’s a joy to see the change of weather

It’s time to fix the garden for this summer

Clearing the garbage is not an easy task

Who will do it for me I often ask?

In comes a truck with three young men

Said they, “give us a chance  to fix your garden.”

They look like amazing workers that I’m sure

My neglected garden all winter does it have a cure?

They worked hard to make the landscape bright

Daffodils, petunias, peonies they made it look all right

One question kept lingering on my mind

The grass I have, is this the right kind?

On hearing this, the leader said, “Don’t you worry,

We’ll bring the best sod in a hurry.”

Everything was in order the men started working

They were  good they didn’t waste  time talking.

My landscape in front looks great

Come see neighbors now, I Can’t wait.

I think I’ll arrange to have a  party

I’ll serve all kinds of stuff and make it hearty!
