365 Writing Prompts: A little sneaky

Are writing prompts a useful exercise, or do you find them to be too limiting and/or hokey?

To me writing prompts are useful as long as they do not suggest knowing about people who write these prompts, I know some use it in a different way and ignore writing about themselves, which is a good thing.

There are a lot of prompts where they want us to write about us, I am tired of doing it. There are a lot of things it can focus on and leave out knowing about people who write these prompts.

By this time I think I have written a lot about myself, anyone reading it will have no trouble writing a biography of me.

It’s time the prompts given to us is something more educational than knowing about us as persons. There are a lot of topics that can help one’s general knowledge.

I wanted to know about Kazi Nazrul Islam a Bengali poet. I knew some of his work, but not a lot. I wanted to see how much I can get online.I received plenty of information. He was a Bengali, poet. He wrote poetry, prose, in the days when India was occupied by the British. He devoted a lot of his time, encouraging the masses to fight against the foreign power, who was occupying the soil of the sub-continent. There were other famous people who contributed a lot.

I was interested about Nazrul Islam, because I was asked by one of my good friends to write about him on my blog. I did get enough about him. It was helpful,I was able to write a short biography of the poet.
