DP Daily Prompt: Race the Clock

Here’s the title of your post: “An Offer I Couldn’t Refuse.”

Set a timer for ten minutes ,and write it. Go!

My friend said one day,” if on Wednesday by 10 am , you  make your  popular dish  biriyani and bring  it  to my house, I’ll give you  a gift that you’d  thank me for life.”

I was tempted, I woke up early morning completed my prayer and started getting the ingredients ready for the popular dish.

I sliced five onions chopped them and placed them in the pot,while the onions were getting caramelized, I got the potatoes peeled and , halved them and washed them. it was 8 am , I’ll be able to get it done on time I thought.

I gathered the spices, garam masala,cumin ,coriander,cayenne pepper, salt, ginger,garlic, in a bowl, I breathed a sigh of relief I’ll make it.

I realized I forgot to get the rice ready, I told myself to hurry, I  got the rice washed and drained the water.

What about the meat, tomatoes,yogurt I still did not take them out, O my God, the clock ran out, while everything was left as is, I was not able to put the biriyani in the oven, oh poor me, I wonder now what was the surprise?

My brain told me “you slow poke you do not deserve it.”

365 Writing Prompts:Simply Irresistible

Tell us about the favorite dish or food that  you simply cannot turn down.

My favorite dish is biriyani, it is a casserole dish. It has a fine  mixture of ingredients, the most important is  beef, close second is basmati rice, followed by potatoes, tomatoes,onions,yoghurt, clarified butter and all those spices that enhance the flavor of this awesome casserole.

It can be cooked in the oven or on  top of the stove, the spices give it the aroma and once it’s done, it is difficult to wait!

I cooked this several times for my daughter’s friends, they love it a lot.

365 days Writing Prompt: RSVP

Plan the ultimate celebration for the person you’re closest to, and tell us about it. Where is it? Who’s there? What’s served? What happens?

On May 9th 2014 an awesome book was published, it took the author over two years to complete writing this book, his hard work paid off as this book earned him the fame, every writer dreams of.

He is a gifted writer, he is humble and has a very sweet disposition. I came to know him accidentally while spending time to do some research on the great Philosopher and poet Iqbal. From him I found out he was offering  an online course on Iqbal, my prayers were answered I immediately registered for the course,or he kindly registered me and even paid for the registration. I was impressed who would do this for a complete unknown, it showed how generous he was. 

Since then I registered for all the courses he offered. After a few courses I realized how awesome he was. His latest book gave me reason to celebrate his most recent accomplishment.

My plan is to organize the celebration, where he lives now. I intend to invite all those people who have encouraged him to write this book.

I’d get a catering service to serve the kinds of food he likes. He once mentioned he missed biriyani, he hasn’t eaten it since he left home. This particular dish is served with yoghurt salad and some Seekh kebabs, I’m almost sure he’d like it.

Dessert will be light, after a heavy dinner a light dessert will be served to all the invited guests.

After dinner, two guests who know the author will be invited to say a few words about him.

Before leaving the author would be requested to sign the copies of his book bought by some of his fans!

It’s been a while since I 

Read a Recipe oh my

I am more than Ready 

Today to cook Rice so spicy

Biriyani with lamb completely groovy!

 

 

Real Reason for cooking 

 Is to vow everyone looking

I was not aware the realm 

Will be so ravenously hungry

The Royals are demanding I hurry!

 

The Rice is Raw and the 

 Lamb is not out of the box

The invitees are  Raucous

And I’m going  absolutely bonkers

Help me Reena  help me Robert

Keep these Ruffians in their motors!

 

Come one and come all

Let’s rejoice and thank the Lord

Relish the food at this moment

Remember I may not make it again

So Relish rejoice and revel this moment!
