In response to daily post’s one-word prompt : Blanket

A blanket of snow, covered the ground,

The ring that fell there, couldn’t be found.

The newly married bride cried in despair,

How long shall I wait for snow to disappear!

The clown  passing by had this to say,

Count your blessings fair one this day.

A mere ring is not worth crying for,

Shed a tear or two for those killed  in the war!

Daily Prompt: To Sleep, Perchance to Dream

Sleep is one-third of our lives. Write a post about it. Do you love naps? Have trouble falling asleep? Wish you could remember your dreams? Remember something especially vivid? Snuggle under a blanket, or throw the windows wide open? Meditate on sleep.

I have a definite pattern of sleep. I sleep regularly after ten pm, if I don’t I have difficulty sleeping. When I was very young I used to argue with my eldest brother about our traveling times. He always booked our train journeys at night. This meant I’d lose my sleep.

His reason was if we traveled at night we’d reach our destination in the day time. “But I’d lose my sleep I’d complain.”

As long as all the family members were okay with his decision, he didn’t care what I thought.

I don’t dream much when I sleep, occasionally I dream my purse has disappeared, or I lost something else. When I wake up in the morning I check if everything is in its place.

365 Writing Posts: Five Items

A classic question, revisited, what are the five items you must have on a deserted island?

Five items I consider most important to me are:

1. Food

2. Camera

3.Pencil

4. paper

5. blanket

Food: well any living thing needs food,I am no exception , my food is a bit more complicated than the plants and animals.

Animals will eat anything that moves, not true in our case.

Plants: I’m so thankful for them, they provide us shade in the form of trees, there are trees that produce fruits, vegetables. Without trees our land will turn into deserts.

Why will I need a camera, I think  there will be so many varieties of living things, I’d like to capture them in my little equipment.

I did not include pen, it has a shorter life than a  pencil, I opted to carry a pencil and of course paper to write on . I want to make my unwanted stay fascinating, good or bad it will help me write about my experience.

I wished  to include something else in my list of five items, but a voice in me said, “take a blanket, it will keep you warm, in case it’s freezing on the island!”

Above is a list of items I think I’ll need. I’ve given the reason why they’re more important than anything else.
