365 writing Prompts: Far from normal

Many of us think of our lives as boringly normal, while others live the high life.Take a step back, and take a look at your life as an outsider might. Now, tell us at least six unique, exciting, or( just plain odd things about yourself).

We all have a different perspective about our life. What I think is normal, someone else may not. My life as I see it is simple, I wake up before sunrise to pray, if I’m up to it I stay up, if I feel my body needs sleep, I go back to sleep. I have, my breakfast, after this I come back to my room turn on my computer, I go to the page to see what the prompts for that day is, I start writing.

Today’s prompt is all about normal, it is something that varies from person to person. I think my life is normal, my neighbor might think it is boring. I’ve heard the word boring,if I define this word all I read is, uninteresting, tedious, dull. To me all these  meanings are foolish.

Can someone honestly tell me writing is dull, uninteresting or tedious. Tedious can have room for it when I am stuck, but I cannot really say it’s uninteresting which reminds me about the fox and the grapes, just because he couldn’t reach the grapes on the tree he declared that the grapes were sour.

Same thing applies to writing I console myself by saying, “It’s uninteresting.”

I consider my life normal, because my days are planned I know exactly how I’ll spend my day. As far as high life goes it’s not normal for me and I do not feel the urge to lead a high life.

I’m not sure I can call it unique, but here are six things about myself: 1. I write every day. 2. I love studying about Iqbal.3. I think these online courses are awesome.4. I spend a part of my time listening to my favorite songs. 5. My daughter and I have two very cute felines. 6. I do not like heavy snowfall, it disrupts my movement, when and if I want to go out, and I am not fond of shoveling.

The above is all about me or part of it.

DP Daily Prompts: The Object of My Dejection

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

Tell us the Object of Your Dejection– something you made, a masterpiece unfinished , or some sort of project that failed to meet your expectations. What did you learn from the experience? How would you do things differently next time?

My dejection is entirely different than the question asked. So far I did not make anything, there is no unfinished masterpiece, or no project undone by me, I didn’t start one.

Here is my reason for dejection, I bought a book which I should have completed reading at least a month ago, I haven’t, I am not even close to finishing it, I’ve only read a few chapters.

What’s wrong the book is boring, I still attempted to read it, I’ve already bought the book. I’ve tried to read at least four or five chapters at a time, I ended up reading only a few pages. It’s a peculiar problem I’m having, as soon as I start reading it, I feel extremely sleepy, I close the book and try to sleep I do not feel sleepy anymore.

The book itself has failed to meet my expectation, I’ll have to start reading it again today, let me see what happens.

How will I do things differently next time? I will read a few pages of the book in the store before I buy it, it might work.

DP Daily Prompt: Fifteen Credits Posted by Ranu

School.

School. (Photo credit: zoovroo)

Another school semester is about to begin. While school means getting knowledge and making friends, doing silly things. It fails to attract me,I am out of school,I am doing great. Frankly I miss nothing about school, the boring lecturers, the overactive classmates and a dingy classroom,I am so blessed for not heading that way any more.

Although I am out of school,I cannot do as I please. I have to look for a job,one that pays enough to keep me afloat. Now it’s not easy to come by a job like that.

Maybe I miss school,my fees are paid by my parents or guardians, whoever happens to be holding that wonderful job. For me I just have to study, it will be an excuse to continue the flow of cash from my dear elders.

You know what I am confused,I cannot exactly say which one I like better. Both of them come with a bundle of responsibility. So I am tossing between in school and out of school. Do I like studying or working ? I’d say ‘Neither’. There you go this is my response to today’s prompt!
