Do parties and crowds fill you with energy, or send you scurrying for peace and quiet?

I do not mind going to parties if there are some people I know, it gives me an incentive to hang out with them. I am not too fond of wild parties where guests completely lose their sense,I avoid those.

I’ve been to some parties where the guests are interested in what every one is wearing, to me it feels like I’m attending a fashion show I don’t much care about them.

I was invited to attend a wedding in Baltimore, the groom was the son of my husband’s good friend, I was happy to accept the invitation.

There were a lot of guests, it was not noisy, the bride was very sweet, she made sure her guests were having a good time, her father had passed away, she and her mother and her cousins organized everything. The whole ceremony was a joy to watch.

Bride , which light

Touched my eyes?

Perhaps your light was shaped

Like a sunbeam in the

Solar region.

My heart was waiting

For you day and night.

Long time have I endured

The pain of separation.

Devoid of music  depressed ,

without a companion,

Will I forever be distressed

And spend my days alone?

DP Daily Prompts: Next in Line

A second #Royal Baby will soon be joining the Windsors in England Given the choice ,would you rather be heir to the throne, or the(probably) off-the-hook sibling?

A second Royal Baby? Congrats to the Royals, how cool it is for Kate and Williams, they are expecting another, “Royal Child” the queen must be delighted or is she? With the birth of another one will make her think seriously if she should step down and let her first born get the taste of succeeding her, at least before he loses all his hair eager to sit on the throne for the minimum of a couple of years so his bride who married him to become the queen gets her wish fulfilled.

Well that maybe her desire but the queen  surely has other plans.

Given the choice I certainly won’t look forward to be the heir to the throne, it’s already crowded, my chances are nil, so I’d consider myself lucky if I’m off the hook. I won’t mind the privileges that comes with being a “Royal” minus the responsibilities!

DP Daily Prompt: Trains,Rails, Automobiles Or Something Else entirely different by Ranu

I have chosen a rowboat for this prompt. My husband’s family lived in the village. Two days after my marriage, I was scheduled to travel to the village, where my in-law’s lived.

This was my first experience on a rowboat. My father was not too enthusiastic taking us to his village because of transportation.Here I was on a narrow boat,the ceiling touching my head. I was a new bride and therefore it was not appropriate to complain.The pace was slow,I wasn’t aware how long it would be before I could free  myself from the pressure of everyone around me.

The boatman was taking his time rowing,he was used to this. He felt great, he was feeling important,my husband hired him.

After about two hours we reached the place where we were to disembark. The wharf,where we were supposed to get off looked like a slimy mound of earth. I was terrified,this was my first time,and I was wearing a sari not the best attire to alight on a slippery path. Embarrassment aside I asked my brother-in-law’s help. With his assistance I was able to walk on the path and reach the building. I breathed a sigh of relief when I crossed this hurdle!
