Daily Prompts: Reason to Believe

In Reason to Believe, Bruce Springsteen sings ,”At the end of every hard-earned day/people find some reason to believe.”  What’s your reason to believe?

My reason to believe,is if I’m sincere at what I’m doing, I’ll be successful. I mean I’ll feel better when my effort is appreciated.

In my childhood, I thought all my efforts at being helpful was always sneered at as if I was putting on a show and nothing I did or said was ever taken seriously by the crowd around me. It was a kind of disappointment I failed to grasp.

What I’m going to relate are trivial things, but back then , I felt wonderful.Once my brother who worked in the tea gardens, came home with a  suitcase full of things, he handed it to me and said, “Ranu this is for you.”

I opened the suitcase and lo and behold, I found all kinds of goodies, chocolates, candies, biscuits in attractive boxes. I shared all of it with my other siblings.

One day I asked the same brother, every time you come you bring a suitcase full of good stuff, and say,”Ranu this is for you.”

What will you say if I keep it all and decide not to share?

He had a broad grin on his face and replied, “I know you won’t do it.”

I felt so good realizing, my brother trusts me.

One of the things I value most is trust, I try not to disappoint anyone. When I see people faking, it breaks my heart.

After a  hard days work, we do need assurance that we did well, it makes us feel happy to know our work is appreciated.

In Reason to Believe ,Bruce Springsteen sings,”At the end of every hard-earned day, people find some reason to believe.” What’s your reason to believe?

My reason to believe is as long as I am honest, truthful, and I never hurt or cheat anyone. I will be awarded by God.I say this from experience.

My father passed away when I was twelve, I had no idea how my mother will be able to take care of twelve children. I had two brothers and a sister, who had almost finished their education.

There were nine of us left to complete our education.  My two older  brothers supported  us by contributing funds for our education.

I always wanted to study in England, I knew it can never happen, my brothers could not bear the expense because it was too expensive to go there to study.

I kept hoping maybe I’ll be fortunate and get a scholarship to study in England. I wasn’t really positive it can happen, hope is a wonderful word and I kept hoping the day will come. It did and I grabbed it.

Now I believe everyone should hope, you never know when God would look down from heaven and say, “this person’s hope needs to be fulfilled.”

It was surely me He  looked at and said those unbelievable words!

DP Daily Prompt: Reason to Believe

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

In reason to believe, Bruce Springsteen sings, At the end of every hard-earned day, people find some reason to believe. What’s your reason to believe?

At the end of every difficult season I have reason to believe the next one is going to be better. Winter started early, every day I believed it will not last too long because it started early. December,January,February, March and even April did not spare us from the dreaded snow.

While nature was lashing its fury on us a section of the population was loving it,they were raising their price for clearing the snow, between nature and some people we were being squeezed out of our money pretty fast. Even then I thought this cannot last forever, there still is hope of better days, when the snow will find some other place to torment and leave us alone.

This is May 1st and I am not convinced snow has done its job and will not come back till December. The sun is shining today, let’s hope our cold winter is ready to move on and leave us to enjoy some much needed warm days. My reason to believe this is because we had too many days of cold weather and we deserve some good warm weather.
