DP Daily Prompts: Most precious thing(pet)I ever lost

I know when you lose a thing you can always somehow replace it.

I will write about the most precious pet I  ever lost and in my  mind she can never be replaced. Her name was Thursday,my daughter named her because she got her , one Thursday morning. She was a  tabby, she loved to eat, if there was leftovers Thursday was too glad to oblige. This habit made her overweight but she didn’t care, neither did we, let’s face it she wouldn’t compete in the “Beauty ” show . She was a tabby and loved everyone which includes us and her fellow cats.

One of my daughters was extremely allergic to cat hair, we moved her and JD to our home in Gander. JD loved our Gander home, Thursday did not. I am sure if she could talk she’d definitely complain. She had to adjust, but did she really I thought one day.

We were visiting St. John’s for a few days we brought the pets with us too. As soon as we arrived I noticed Thursday was very happy, she went up to the porch lay down and stretched herself, she recognized her favorite place and relaxed. JD came in, moved around, didn’t seem happy or sad.

Then we decided to sell our home in Gander and move to St John’s, Thursday was happy to be back in her home. We had a lot of fun with her. She knew what we do not allow, she never sat on the sofa but loved to be in the same room with us, so she was contented to lie on her bed on the carpet.

Whenever I lay down on the sofa, she’d jump and sit on my tummy, as far as she was concerned she was not breaking any rules. I thought how cute and clever she is.

A time came when Thursday like the other cats had her time on earth and it was time to say goodbye to us . We took her to the vet,but there was nothing they could do. My daughter went to bring her home, as soon as they were in the driveway, Thursday lifted herself up to make sure she was home, she then closed her eyes and was gone ):

This one is for our feline, Raphael:

Raphael my dear,

How I loved watching you grow

From a kitten to a cat.

You are adorable

Most of the time,

Not so much when you

Make a hole in my mattress.

I show my anger

I spray you with water

You never complain,

You  show your affection

By rubbing my feet.

You are my favorite feline!

DP Daily Prompt: Moments to Remember

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

What are three most memorable moments….good or bad, happy or sad…in your life?Go

I had more than three memorable moments, the three that I consider happy are: 1. the birth of my first daughter, I remember running to see her in her cot, every time she cried. My husband took pictures of her whenever he saw her in a different pose. She didn’t know what we were doing, but looking at the pictures gave me so much joy.  I bought any cute dress I saw, she wasn’t too thrilled to be changed each time we bought a  new dress. I liked to dress her up for my pleasure.

The second moment of happiness was when I was awarded the scholarship to go to London, it was one dream I wanted to come true and it did.

Third one was  one that I never thought of for a long time, but I only knew two lines of Iqbal’s poetry and wanted to learn about him more, the opportunity came unexpectedly  I was very thankful and will continue to do so.

Sad was watching my father dying and I didn’t know it was permanent.

Second, when our cat JD died.

Third when we had to sell our beautiful house, because we were leaving that town.

There are many others happy and sad moments, these were the ones I wanted to share.

DP Daily Prompt: History Of language ( The third time’s a charm)post by Ranu

There was a poor farmer. He lived alone in a hut made of mud.He was alone,he had to cook for himself. He did not earn enough to hire a maid. He went to the market daily to buy fish.It was cheaper than meat or chicken. It also took minimum time to cook.He had one bad habit .He left his house everyday to play the game of  cards. He made sure the food was cooked before he went to see his buddies.

One day as usual he cooked his meal and went to play with his friends. When he returned he had an eerie feeling something was not right. He immediately checked his food.Sure enough it was gone ,he had no fish that evening. He had to be contented with boiled rice. Next day he went as usual to play, when he came back ,same thing happened, the fish was missing. He was furious and decided to stay back to find  the thief. To his surprise ,he saw a tabby coming in ever so slowly. He was silent, as soon as the cat went for the fish, he caught it. He said out loud,”So you are the thief, who was eating my fish,I will kill you this second”. The way the cat looked at him  softened his heart, he gave up the idea of killing it and let it go. Then he said,”I know why they say third time’s the lucky charm.” I found the thief, when it came the third day and caught it.
