pad2015-s1.png (308×60)

Tell us something most people probably don’t know about you.

I have two names, one is Ranu which is a nickname, my family members and close relatives call me Ranu. Most of my relatives do not know my second name.

My second name is Chaman, my classmates and my school friends call me Chaman.

I do not have too many friends, because I’m not outgoing. I like spending time at home. I dislike going out in the evening, sometimes I’m forced to go out.

Rice is my favorite food. I love spicy food, I avoid eating bland food.

I love vegetables, but I do not care for fruits.

Among proteins I enjoy any kind of fish. I am not fond of chicken, I eat it. I find chicken tasteless, no matter how many different spices I use to cook it, I do not find it that good. Beef is my favorite meat. I can cook it many different ways.

I love learning languages, lately I haven’t tried to learn a new language. I find Spanish easier to learn than French.

I am very fond of music, my favorite singers are Mohammed Rafi, Lata, Tagore, Talat Mehmood and Celine Dion. Celine is a French Canadian singer, the rest are from India.

My favorite pastime is blogging, reading novels in three languages, the languages are: Bengali(my mother tongue) Urdu I learned to speak, read and write in school . I have tons of novels in English.

Right now I’m reading, “The American Dervish”, I read almost all the books written by Paolo Coelho.

I spend a lot of time with my feline friends : Gabriel and Raphael.

This is all about me.

DP Daily Prompts: Final Trio

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

For our final trio prompt of the year, write about any topic you wish, but make sure your post features a bookcase, something cracked and a song you love.

Raphael and Gabriel my favorite felines were happily eating their food I gave them for lunch, I thought while they’re busy eating, I’ll check the Youtube to listen to the narrator about the Moors in Spain. I was busy listening and enjoying watching some of the cities in Spain. Suddenly it dawned on me I have a book on Spain let me check if I can find some of the places in Spain  the narrator is talking about. To my utter disbelief I found Raphael pulled out a book from my bookcase, he had a part of the cover in his mouth busily chomping it.

I carried Rapha and put him in the hallway. On the other side of the living room Gabriel knocked down my table lamp and cracked and broke a few pieces, I carried him out and told both of them, they are not allowed in the living room the rest of the day.

I was very upset with the felines, I thought I must listen to my favorite song, it will at least make me forget about the felines for sometime.

Here is the song, I hope you’ll like it,it’s by our Canadian singer Celine Dion.

Writing Prompt: Earworm

What song is stuck in your head(or on permanent rotation in your CD or MP3) Why does it speak to you?

The following song by Celine Dion is stuck in my head.

The song reminds me of the sinking of the ,”Titanic’. I can visualize how traumatic it was for all those people who thought they were safe and suddenly the claim it was unsinkable was only a claim.

They were caught by surprise and were I think desperately looking for something to hold onto to live. This type of catastrophe makes us realize how fragile life is and we should enjoy life every moment we’re alive the best way we can because tomorrow we may not see the light of day.
