NBA Draft, June 23rd 2022

It is not the NBA draft that caught my attention but the little boy who was introduced by the father, the little tyke was remarkable as a child. He showed, one day he’d be a Draft pick. He’s all grown up, this evening he is going to be drafted by one of the NBA teams. Isn’t it awesome?

The amusing part was when the father said out loud, ‘that’s my son.’ Mom felt her husband completely forgot her, she elbowed him and said ‘He’s our son!’

Imagine how we mothers are always left out, when our children excel in something. 🙂

Writing 101: random writing for fifteen minutes

I was looking forward to the prompt today, I think we’ll only get them on week days. This gives me a chance to write something, which might not be that interesting .but I’m writing which makes me happy.

I appreciated getting a comment from one blogger, who has a real sense of humor, I was delighted, I wrote about the shell that disappeared from my desk at school. she said maybe the ocean came and took it back. This reminded me of my childhood when we the siblings spent hours teasing each other, we did not need toys.

I thought I had gone back to my good old days when all we  were interested to do was tease each other. my younger brother would not leave me alone if I tried to speak  my mother tongue the way it should be spoken, not like a dialect, He’d have that silly grin when he would keep imitating the way I spoke until I’d be fed up and told him to leave me alone.

This reminds me of the song those days we thought will never end. They did end we are left to talk about it, sometimes we’d be sad other times we’d laugh and say to ourselves we are lucky we were a large family, we did not need friends, we had each other that was perfect for us.

As a family we  were very close, except we had the odd one who was too conceited to even talk to us. Yes she came from the same parents, she was a spoilt child who always wished she was the only child.

We the rest of us had a whale of a time we walked everywhere when we were not in school.I think of those days and tell myself thank God we loved each other, except the one black sheep we had, she was no fun and we did not want her company.

Now we barely see each other, we all have families of our own, we live in different countries, it’s not easy to visit each other. 🙂

DP Daily Prompt: Uncanned Laughter

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

A misused word, a misremembered song lyric, a cream of pie that just happened to be there: tell us about a time you( or someone else) said or did something unintentionally funny.

I cannot say for sure I misremembered a song lyric or misused a word, I know I am guilty of doing both, but what the lyrics or the word was I cannot recall. I am certain if my friends or family paid attention, they would make fun of me to this day. The fact that it didn’t happen makes me think the word or the lyric did not sound so bad.

There was one occasion when my second child used the word, ‘Bemember,’ instead of remember, our neighbor,Heber smiled and repeated yes I bemember. It was funny but we only smiled and let it go, oh yes I did correct her.

Give some love to three blog posts you’ve read and loved in the past week, and tell us why they are worth reading.

Following are the blog posts I’ve  read and enjoyed in the past week, they are worth reading to see how good they are.

1.Mostly Bright Ideas – “Plumbing the Depths”, by BronxBoy 55

2. Fighting For The Underdog– Alienora’s Blog

3. A Hangover Too Long by Samir Mishra –  Viewsplash

The first one , Mostly Bright Ideas  deals with feelings of different groups of people, there is humor and shows the blogger knows what  he’s writing about. It’s a must read. I’ve enjoyed everything he’s written so far.

Second one is about,”Fighting for the underdog”, she spoke about one of the students, she felt needed the support of the school. Her motto child first, system second, did not win her any friends . Fury was unleashed in her direction, she was accused of being disloyal, unsupportive, unhelpful. This did not deter her from fighting for the child.

Third is , “A hangover Too long” Viewsplash by Samir Mishra : I’ve known  Samir for a very short time. I find his posts are full of humor and the reader is fascinated and cannot help but read his post before moving on. “Hangover Too Long” is one of his astonishing posts. You don’t have to take my word you can find out by reading it yourself.

These are the posts I read and loved, I hope you’ll also show your love by reading them. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed!
