In response to daily post’s prompt : Qualm
When the head of an institution lies without blinking, it’s clear he has no qualm when he lies. But this same person takes down with him, others who work for him, because he has the authority to fire them, if they do not defend him; makes me wonder, do these people have any conscience?
Where do your morals come from — Your family? Your faith ? Your Philosophical worldview? How do you deal with those who don’t share them,or derive from a different source?
Beliefs about what is right behavior and what is wrong behavior, in my case came from my parents, especially from my Mom. She spent a lot of time telling us how to behave with our elders, guests, teachers. We were always discouraged to say anything negative about these people.
My Mom always believed that teachers have a special place in our lives. They are the ones who give us knowledge, take time to explain things we do not understand, after our parents they look after our well-being for we spend most of the time during the day with them. Someone rightly said,”they are your second Mom.”
They (the teachers) deserve our respect, to not show respect to them is morally wrong.
I think we learn morality from our family and also our faith and educational institutions, to me it is a combination of all these that builds our character.
Our faith tells us to treat everyone equally regardless of their social status, we are created by God , who expects us to be kind to all His creation. While we all try most of the time sometimes we fall off the wagon because of outside influence which can make us ignore certain things which is inappropriate. Some of us do realize that inappropriate behavior towards anyone is wrong, we try to correct it because our conscience reminds us bad behavior makes us inhuman.
Have you ever managed to paint yourself into the proverbial corner because of your words? What did you do while waiting for them “to dry”?
I’ve had those moments when I say something and never care to remember and am very quick to blame the other person, this is how I try to get out of tight corners.
Then my conscience kicks in and I apologize till the said person is sick of hearing it, but so far my fabulous friend did not complain, I’m sure it will happen one day, I probably will have no answer but to agree I am a terrible person!

We all learn right and wrong from an early age, whether we put it into practice is a whole different thing. Some of us follow what is right without questioning it, others might have a tendency to rebel it all depends on human nature. We learn this in school,at home, at work, we try our best to conform, sometimes circumstances can deter us from doing the right thing.
Our conscience plays a big part, we feel awful if we do something that we know ourselves is wrong. Then there are some who have no conscience, they lie time after time without feeling anything. They can and will make you look like an evil person , if they so desire.
How will I deal with them? I will stay away from them, it will not bother me, as long as my path does not cross with them. Some of these people do not learn from a different source, their mind is corrupt, they do it for attention and there are people naive enough to believe them.
Then there is temptation, an inclination to commit sin,it requires a strong will to resist it, that word ‘will’ is not present in their mind!
Regrets? Yes I have some. I always feel that sometimes what I feel doesn’t always stay in my brain ,but I cannot wait to let it known the moment the thought enters my brain.
It doesn’t make me feel any better, as my conscience starts working full time, telling me it was a dumb thing to do.
When I was very young my older sister often ridiculed me in front of her friends. She’d question me where I was, she thought if she constantly reminded me I do not study enough, like her I’d sit with a book 24/7. I was never one to hide behind a book, I did my own thing I played, watched my mother cook, I sat with my dad and asked all sorts of questions about anything that came to mind.
My sister would sit with her books all day.Now that I think about it , she didn’t really study all the time, she certainly wanted to impress my Dad.
One day as usual she started criticizing about my study habits, I was fifteen at that time, she had already completed her masters degree, when she wouldn’t keep quiet, I said,”One day I’d also get my masters degree and when that happens ,no one will ask a few years later what class each of us got to make a comparison, they’d only say, good for you Ranu, you also got the degree we are proud of you.”
She was so surprised she could not say another word. Did I regret for being so bold, I did not, I was proud of myself for finally telling her off!

Sometimes we call our relatives or friends a wicked witch, when they make us angry. To me a wicked witch is someone who loves to harm us.They have no conscience,it is sort of like their part time job. They love being evil. They hate happy people.
We knew a person on our street, she visited us often and always made comments about my daughter, she would say,”Look how fat she is,look at her arms and her legs”,my daughter was only six months old.We noticed every time she said those things,my daughter would come down with vicious fever, and would be sick for a few days. Irritated my husband remarked,”Do not bring my daughter out when that witch comes to our house.” I was unable to comply, she would ask to see her. So we thought we’d wrap her with a blanket,to hide her arms and legs . One day she asked ,” What is wrong with her”? I wasn’t prepared , “I said O she is cold”. Can she be called a witch?I wonder.
I have encountered a few, their looks, their body language is such, one can tell they are wicked. They don’t have to wear a costume, their looks give them away!!

All the world’s countries have decided that the internet itself needs a government. What a delightful idea.Am I sure my government i.e( original Country) is not trying to divert my mind from finding out all the sneaky things they’re up to? You see there’s going to be elections in December, the ruling party is getting their ammunition ready to discredit or disallow anyone who is trying to overthrow them. It’s a developing country, the name itself sounds ironic, nothing is developed,it is in worse shape since the independence. The lovely lady is amassing all the wealth and making sure no one knows about it. Way to go ‘Swiss banks’!
Ill only accept this wonderful position,if the lady in question steps down. It will never happen, viewing from the brighter side,it will be swell if the population gets ,’Divine Help’.
I cannot in good conscience accept this wonderful job,”SORRY”!
