Mind and life matters limerick challenge: DARK

What is  he like constantly  I ask

Their vague response  is tough  to unmask

He feels like a breeze

keep your mind at ease

His dark form will in your mind unmask!

Tagore song: kholo kholodar rakhio na aar bahiray amai daray, posted and translated by Ranu

Open , open the door,

Do not keep me waiting outside.

Respond to my call,

Look at me,

Come and greet me with open arms.

My work is done,

The evening stars have risen.

The lighted ferry has disappeared,

In the vast ocean.

Is the water-pot filled,

Both sides of the wharf clean,

Did you tie your hair,

pluck  the flowers,

string the garland?

The cattle is  back from the pasture,

The birds returned  to  their nest,

All the  paths surrounding the world,

Have disappeared in  the dark.

Do not keep me waiting outside,

Open , open the door!

……………………….. 🙂

The above are songs from Bollywood,Hindi songs, four out of five have subtitles, the fourth one does not have subtitles. The song is about two thieves taken by police to jail, they make most of the ride by singing a song about their journey, by treating this ride similar to going to their  in-law’s house.

Enjoy at your free time.

365 Writing Prompts: Fear Factor

People are afraid of all kinds of things: Spiders, the dark or being enclosed in  small places. Tell us about your greatest fear—rational or irrational.

I’m afraid of all the things mentioned above, but the dark is something I was always afraid of. Even when I’m sleeping if the power is off, I wake up and have difficulty breathing, it’s been there since I was very young, I could not sleep in a dark room.

During the winter when we have a snowstorm I am always scared because there is  the danger that the power might go off. I keep a lantern and a flashlight near my bed.

Fire of Music by Tagore Sung by Pratima Mukhopadhay Translated by Ranu

You have attached the fire of

Music in my heart

This fire has spread everywhere

Everywhere everywhere

On all  the branches of dead trees

This fire is dancing

At the beat of this music

To whom in the sky

Is it extending its hands

You have attached the fire of

Music in my heart

The stars in the dark sky

Are struck with wonder

What kind of crazy wind is blowing

On a clear midnight sky

What suddenly blossomed

The golden lotus has blossomed

Who knows what kind of

Charm the fire has

You have attached the fire of

Music in my heart!

The Heart

The Heart (Photo credit: petalouda62)

“The broken dream of a stream” By Tagore

How did the sun’s rays

penetrate my heart this morning,

how did the song of the bird

penetrate the dark cave!

I don’t know how

my heart awakened after

such a long time!

heart is awake,

the water is swelling up,

I cannot stop my heart’s

wish and emotion.

The mountains are trembling,

hailstones are sliding down,

the water is beating up

into froth

it is thundering in anger.

Here and there almost mad

it is turning and turning

and roaming around__

it wants to come out,

cannot find the prison door.

Why is the creator so cruel,

why is there trap all around,

break the heart,break the tie,

have the desire today,

lift the layers of waves

continue striking it.

When the heart is excited

what is dark,what is cruel!

When the yearning is increasing

why fear the world!

I will pour compassion,

I will break the cruel prison,

I will sing all around the world

anxious crazy water.

I will untie my hair, pick up flowers,

fly my rain-bow painted fan,

I will spread laughter

on the rays of the sun.

I will run from peak to peak,

I will conquer hill after hill,

I will giggle and sing rhythmically.

I have so much to say,

so much to sing,

so much vitality,

so much happiness,so much desire.

I know not what happened ,

my heart is awake__

from the distance I can hear

the song of the ocean.

All around me

what is this frightful prison__

break break break  the prison,

strike strike it.

O what a song the bird sang,

here comes the rays of the sun.
