DP : You’re a Winner!

You’ve just won $1 billion dollars in the local lottery. You do not have to pay tax on your winnings. How will you spend the money?

I am delighted to know about the one billion dollars I’ve won in the local lottery, I do not have to pay taxes, it sounds sweet. Even better than sugar, the primary ingredient in almost all desserts.

It will be like easy come easy go money. I didn’t work for it , I won it. Spending it can be easy if I want to party around all over the planet. Wait now I’m hearing a voice, it’s telling me this is my opportunity to be generous.

Whenever I watch TV , there is  always someone asking us to donate money to poverty stricken children in Africa, or somewhere else. I have often thought how great it would be if I could help out the people who are starving.

Instead of using the money to buy expensive stuff for myself, I’d rather donate all of this money to charity. I’d feel much better doing this than buying expensive cars, jewelry, clothes, homes, or what have you.

My mind is made up I will give all of this money away!!

You’ve just won $1 billion dollars in the local lottery. you do not have to pay tax on your winnings. How will you spend the money?

You are a winner, is an expression I cannot remember hearing when it comes to chance.

According to the prompt I won $1 billion dollars in the local lottery and the best part I won’t be taxed.

The question is how will I spend the money, lately I’ve watched some game shows and even cooking shows where the contestant talked about using the money they win to pay back their student loan. I feel horrible that these young people have so much debt to pay off.

While I may not be able to pay off the student loan of everyone, I certainly will pay off the loans of students in my area with my winnings.

I’ll donate some of it to educational institutions to help pay the cost of books and other things to under-privileged students in the developing world, we know how hard it it is for the school and the students to carry out programs which require a fair amount of money.

The money left I’d donate to hospitals in Canada.

365 Writing Prompts: A Random Act of Kindness

Tell us about the time when you performed a secret random act of kindness—where the recipient of your kindness never found out about your good deed. How did the deed  go down?

In my religion we are expected to give monetary help to those who are less fortunate. I donated money to our local Mosque for a while, now I usually send the money to my brother,he gives it to the local orphanage.

About a couple of years ago I asked my friend if he knew someone I could send some money to help out, he got hold of his friend and arranged to send the money to him, his friend knew a family who were having a bit of trouble and could use the money. The money I believe was very helpful as the family had some debt which they paid off.

The deed certainly was well received, it doesn’t matter if they did not know who gave the money.

DP Daily Prompt: In the Summertime

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

Theoretically, summer will return to the polar-vortex-battered Northern Hemisphere. What are you looking forward to doing this summer? If you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, what are your fondest memories of summer past?

Unfortunately I am living in the northern hemisphere and am anxiously waiting for summer, which still looks as though it is taking its time to show itself because our behavior is less than desirable. Why you ask, we are not recycling as we should, we are making it look as if every space visible is a huge garbage can, we own too many cars per family and are the cause of pollution. We are too lazy to throw our used coffee cups in the designated areas,we ignore it and throw it on the spot where we had our coffee. We’ve been warned but we ignore the signs.

When summer decides to show up, I am planning to get every bit of stuff I am not using and making my house look like a junk yard, donate  to citizens who might find better use for them.

My garden needs a thorough clean up and perennials would be sorted out, if they need to be thinned out then I’ll do that and not strangle them by overcrowding . The trees and shrubs need pruning, since I won’t be able to do this job,I’d hire the right people to take care of it.

Summer is the best time to get things done outdoors, which is what I plan to do.

When everything looks half decent I might take a trip near my home.I think I have written how I am going to utilize the summer months, hopefully it’ll appear without any further delay!

DP Daily Prompt: You’re a Winner

It’s difficult to believe I can ever win such a large amount of money tax free.  Since I’m an optimist most of the time, I’d think I really have hit the jackpot.  It will take a few months for me to draw up a plan, how I can spend this enormous sum of money.

I’d first donate locally, because it makes sense to help the people in my city who’d appreciate getting some money. I’d pay off their mortgage, build some shelters for the poor. Invest some of it to improve  roads.  Donate some to repair run down public buildings. When I think I’ve accomplished helping my local community. I’d think how I can help the world outside my community.

There are millions of people around the world who are homeless  hungry and uneducated. My winning can help them  change their lives. It’ll be my pleasure to use it for those unfortunate people.

I’d also use some of it for all those animals who are dying because of  lack of food and shelter.
