Daily Prompts: Ripped Into the Headline

Write about something that happened over the weekend, as though it’s the top story on your local paper.

Here in St. John’s there was a hot debate going on as to who should be elected as the Prime Minister of Canada, the election is over and we have a new Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, yes the son of the most charismatic Prime Minister we ever had, Pierre Elliott Trudeau, he was never shy to express himself, who wouldn’t if one was Mr. Trudeau. He was fluent in both English and French. Justin the son appears to be quite smart. We’ll have to wait and see how he performs his role.

Then we had our Provincial election, the liberals won, that took the heading.

Now that the elections are done with, the weather is making headlines. We will have a blizzard,I hope 2016 spares us from all the storms we had in the past winters.

I am sitting in my room hearing the howling winds and wondering at the same time how bad will it be. Last evening I noticed the wind picked up and snow was falling, the schools were closed, it did not make any difference to me or the felines, we were in our room, glad we did not have to go out to face the terrible weather.

This morning I had the urge to clear the snow that fell last night, I dressed up, I opened the door , unfortunately after the snow, we had some rain, the temperature dropped and the driveway is icy. I couldn’t clear the front porch it was rock solid, I’m hoping the temperature would go up and the ice will melt, so I can clear some of the snow.

I presume the local paper would say the same thing, I’m guessing, I don’t usually buy the paper unless I want to know what’s on sale.I think the closing comments of Tagore would have been: Amaar Kauthati Phuralo, Notay Gaachti muralo, meaning my words have ended and the tree’s top is chopped off! 🙂
