Lillie McFerrin Writes

This week’s prompt is “Villainous.”

Good and Evil went to school, one day,

One was happy and one was sad.

Said Good to Evil,  what makes you sad?

I could not push that girl hard enough,

So she would fall and break her neck,

Is what makes me sad!

My you are abominable Good  said to Evil,

From now on you are not my friend

Anymore.

That is how the friendship of

Good and Evil ended!

365 Writing Prompts: Write about evil

Write about evil: how you understand it( or don’t), what you think it means, or a way it’s manifested, either in the world at large or in your life.

In my mind evil carries a variety of meaning.I do not think everything we do is classified as an evil act or harmful. I believe one is evil when  his act is harmful.

I once convinced my uncle that my brother loves bony fish, which was a lie, he didn’t like any kind of fish,

Why did I do it,  I did it all in  jest of course,  I wanted to see whether he’d eat the fish my uncle specifically bought for him, Thinking it was my brother’s favorite he told the chef to  cook a variety of dishes using that fish.

It was lunch time, my brother noticed all the dishes were prepared with the same type of  fish, not knowing what to do he ate it very slowly or must I say he showed no enthusiasm, he quietly ate it.

My uncle was watching him, he whispered to me,”I don’t think your brother likes the food.”

I smiled and replied, “no, uncle he loves it, he’s just shy.”

Clearly in this case I certainly was evil, I knew better. But it did not harm my brother,he had to eat something he didn’t like.

Whereas a few years ago there were two ten year old kids, who lured a two year old boy to an unknown destination and killed him. This is what I think is an evil act, what was the consequence of this horrific crime? The two boys were not only spared,  their name was changed and  they were sent to  an unknown destination.

Those boys have grown up knowing that their evil act was pardoned,we are not aware what they are doing, how many other innocent people they might have killed.

DP Daily Prompt: Litmus,Litmus on the Wall

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

If you had to come up with one question the answer to which would determine whether or not you could be friends with a person you’ve just met, what would it be? What would the right answer be?

My question is: Is it safe to make friends with someone I’ve just Met?

In my mind the right answer to my question is: In this world of ours there are a variety of personalities,  there is no doubt, ” human being is essentially good and peaceful.”, it’s a quote by a famous philosopher. In my mind I know at birth a child is an innocent soul, he is as fresh and pure as a daisy.

When this same human grows up he comes into contact with a variety of people, some are good some are evil, sometimes this little soul can be tempted to do things that are evil, this is one side he hasn’t learned, his parents has taught him what is good and he should always be truthful, honest and trustworthy.

When he meets someone who teaches him the exact opposite, he will be tempted to try. If he’s lucky he’d decide on his own this is not the right path, but if his curiosity gets the better of him, he’d continue to do illegal things secretly, after a while it’ll be a habit and he won’t be able to turn it around.

Good and evil seems to go side by side, this feeling will make me want to know the person first, before I  try to be friendly.

DP Daily Prompt: Showdown At Big Sky

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

How do you handle conflict? Boldly and Directly? Or, do you prefer a more subtle approach?

I handled conflict very differently from any of the ones listed,I’d loved to write how I handled conflict, once upon a time.

This is all about my sister-in-law , she joined our family without invitation and was always ready to give us trouble and prove to my eldest brother we were evil.

One day my sis.-in-law prepared lunch as usual, she told the maid she was going to her neighbor’s and would be back before my other brother came home for lunch. She told the maid not to serve lunch until she came back.

My brother arrived home for lunch and  asked the maid to quickly bring lunch for him she said she couldn’t because she was told to wait  until Mrs.  was back. The clock was ticking my brother got very impatient I watched him pacing back and forth, and getting angrier every second. He had five minutes left to go back to work and the lady  of the house i.e our sis.-in-law did not come back.

My brother could not keep his temper in check anymore,he went into the kitchen, and started picking up the food pots and tossed them outside one after another until he was done. Then he left. I was horrified I did not know what to do,I thought my eldest brother would come home and get angry with me or even hit me.You might wonder why was I afraid because if anything bad happened my elders used to take it out on me.

I got dressed up quietly, called a rickshaw and went to our Grandpa’s house. I was safe, Grandpa looked at me and smiled,” what did your sister-in-law do this time?” I didn’t stop shaking, he felt bad for me, he said,”next time come to my house don’t go to your brother’s place”.

This is how I handled that conflict.

DP Daily Prompt: Do you Believe in Magic?

No Evils-01061

No Evils-01061 (Photo credit: subsetsum)

I do believe sometimes we come across certain occasions which make us think this really is magic. I wouldn’t mind transforming  into a mystical being.

I’d like to have the power to cure certain incurable diseases, wipe out hunger, transform evil people and make them good.

There are a number of diseases I hear about that are incurable. I want the power to cure them. When we hear the word cancer,we immediately give up . It shouldn’t be like that.

I would love to wipe out hunger with my power. There are millions of people old ,young ,men , women and children who are starving everyday. It would be awesome if I get the power to wipe out hunger for ever.

We have a lot of people who cannot help but turn to evil ways.

I think most of the time circumstances make them evil. when someone goes without food for several days, they make wrong choices, they either steal or kill. All I can do is remove the problem of course I must have the power.

I’d welcome transforming into a mystical being.

DP Daily Prompt: Wicked Witch Ranu’s Post

English: The Wicked Witch of The West, melting...

English: The Wicked Witch of The West, melting after being doused by Dorothy. From the first edition of The Wizard of Oz. Français : La méchante sorcière de l’ouest, en fusion après avoie été arrosée par Dorothy. Extrait de la première édition de Le Magicien d’Oz. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Sometimes we call our relatives or friends a wicked witch, when they make us angry. To me a wicked witch is someone who loves to harm us.They have no conscience,it is sort of like their part time job. They love being evil. They hate happy people.

We knew a person on our street, she visited us often and always made comments about my daughter, she would say,”Look how fat she is,look at her arms and her legs”,my daughter was only six months old.We noticed every time she said those things,my daughter would come down with vicious fever, and would be sick for a few days. Irritated my husband remarked,”Do not bring my daughter out when that witch comes to our house.” I was unable to comply, she would ask to see her. So we thought we’d wrap her with  a blanket,to hide  her arms and legs . One day she asked ,” What is wrong with her”? I wasn’t prepared , “I said O she is cold”. Can she be called a witch?I wonder.

I have encountered a few, their looks, their body language is such, one can tell they are wicked. They don’t have to wear a costume, their looks give them away!!

DP Daily Prompt: Three- tenths (life, love, waste) Post by ranu

Ten words that come to mind are:

1. poetry

2.love

3.real

4.word

5.important

6.home

7.dream

8.comfort

9.life

10.waste

The above are the ten words that came to my mind. The three I have chosen are: love, life and waste.

As an infant we feel love. Our parents give it to us unconditionally. Life is good when we get love. We grow up feeling it is our birth right to be loved.

As years go by we grow up ,we start school.we meet boys and girls our age. we are taught basic language to fulfill our needs. Our life runs smoothly. The only responsibility we have is to make sure we remember our lessons. At home we are the most important person. In school there are twenty others who seek love from the one teacher. We cannot understand why we are not the center of attention. It teaches us jealousy. We start disliking our classmates. We feel because of them we do not get enough attention.

As we go higher up in grades,we learn another thing. It is competition. Our competitive spirit makes us believe we will get more attention if we do well. To achieve it we learn to work hard and not waste time. Our inner self teaches us all these things i.e do not waste time,we must work hard to impress the teacher, we will not get love automatically,we have to earn it,life will become complicated.

We grow up and are amazed to find life is no longer a bed of roses, there are thorns every step of the way. We learn to make adjustments to avoid getting hurt. Sometimes it is not easy. we move on at our own pace,we try to inhale everything around us. Suddenly we find ourselves struggling to keep up with the rest of humanity. Our parents are always there to teach us right and wrong. We are torn between the teachings of parents and that of our friends. There is a big difference. How can we tackle this. We are not quite sure who we should follow. Our mind has not developed yet to comprehend. If we are unlucky we’ll stick to our friends, the loss of friends at that stage is something we cannot cope with. We are sharp to understand who we must follow. Our parents  will never abandon us, but the friends will. We choose friends over parents. The path taken by us will expose us to serious trouble. The nightmares will visit us every night,

While we are in this predicament,we realize it is essential to talk about our fears with our parents. We know they  will understand and save us from any further trouble. Parents love us unconditionally, they protect us from evil people. We learn from our experience, life, love and waste are the key to a successful future!

Hemant kumar’s song Post and translation by Ranu

The precise turn is twisted,

this world is turning around

and changing into so many colors

with every beat.

Sometimes its tawny,sometimes green,

sometimes it’s reasonable,at other times stubborn.

Their affection is reciprocal one moment,

next  moment  they  dump it.

It’s a puzzle that’s why it’s twisted.

this merry-go-round

makes you cry and forget.

It’s white at times and black  next,

It’s sometimes evil,and sometimes good.

In life’s gamble if you win you are brave,

you are the biggest fool if you lose.

You are unfortunate,

and that is why it’s open sesame!

O ,Mother Of Bengal let your sons experience good and bad deeds, sorrow and joy,ups and downs in life.

Let your sons be human

O most affectionate mother land__in your land of millions

Don’t keep them as innocent children any more.

Let them explore all the countries whichever is the place

make them independently find that abode.

Every step of the way you are protecting them from making small mistakes

do not restrict them and hold on to them as obedient sons.

by giving their life ,enduring pain and suffering, alone

let them distinguish between good and evil.

Take your pious, weak and peaceful sons

let them be homeless, daring and reckless.

O, my admirable mother you have kept your seven million sons,

as Bengalis_____you have failed to raise them as human beings.
