Daily Prompt : Harmony

In response to daily post’s one-word prompt : Harmony

Lack of Harmony is a cause of our fall,

How can we change  so we don’t feel small?

Unity might help to have a world of balance,

We may never succeed if we lack good conscience!

Daily Prompt: Through the Window

pad2015-s1.png (308×60)

Go to the nearest window. Look out for a full minute. Write about what you see.

I recall writing this prompt some time ago. the nearest window is the one in my bedroom. Since I’ve already looked out and expressed how awesome it looked through this window. my mind wants me to do the same with the one further away from me, it’s one facing the front of the house.

As I stood there William Wordsworth came to mind, what he would have written compared to   my meaningless  words. I went to my window further away, saw a runner plowing away trying to keep her body fit, while I looked on. There were two others a mother and daughter I presume racing with each other trying to see who can get there first, where I don’t know but the spectacle caught my attention.

Moving on I gazed at the majestic maple trees now in full bloom, green are their leaves and attractive. They know it wouldn’t last the ‘Fall’ would very cruelly shed their leaves on one stormy day and they’d be standing still with nothing to boast of, but  bare trees with naked branches.

On the material side I’m watching a group of men with their machines replacing the green grass with asphalt to convert the place into a parking lot, all because the owners want to make money by renting it to vehicle owners. I feel terrible the greenery is replaced by black tar.

This shows how we’d do anything to wipe out  traces of nature. Why do we complain about the weather, we are responsible for changing the climate, which reminds me, “you reap what you sow! 😦

Daily Prompt: Autumn Leaves

Changing colors, dropping temperatures, pumpkin spice lattes: do these mainstays of Fall fill your heart with warmth–or with dread?

Colorful leaves, pumpkin pies, spice lattes, reminds me of Fall and then the dreaded winter.

Winter for me spoils the fun of Fall, it’s visit gives me images of snow, short days, howling winds and blizzard. It feels like I haven’t recuperated from the chilly winters, icy driveways and streets of last winter and it’s back again, a time of the year which brings memories of the difficult time we had clearing our driveways and soon after blocked by the plow to clear the streets and sidewalks.

I’m afraid Fall does not please me, it evokes the memory of winter! 😦

365 Writing Prompts: Turn,turn, turn,

For many of us, winter is blooming into spring, or fall hardening into winter.Which season do you most look forward to?

Our winter is quite stubborn, the days are longer, it is April but snow continues to fall. I am not certain when spring will finally arrive. Right now the trees are bare, the grounds are covered with snow and the temperature below 8 degrees, which is quite disappointing.

The season I look forward to is summer. The weather is warm, I get to see our yard full of lovely flowers and the branches of trees covered  with beautiful leaves.

Summer is a happy season, we do not need heavy coats or warm gloves or hats and boots. Nature provides us with warm days. The aroma of barbecued chicken, hamburger, french fries fills the air.

Wherever we go we see smiling faces, it’s a nice day everyone we meet yells out loud. We get to see friendly faces.

There are nine year old kids selling drinks and some cookies, just to please and encourage them, adults buy whatever they are selling. 🙂

365 Writing Prompts: By the skin of your teeth

Share a time when you narrowly avoided disaster.

It happened when I was going to the mall for something one day, I don’t know if the pavement was slippery I fell flat on the pavement.

When I came home I noticed a red circle on my knee,I thought maybe the red paint on the pavement probably smeared my knee, when I tried to wash it off I saw it was blood not paint on my knee it took me a while to clean it off. I was glad I didn’t break a bone by that fall!

Changing colors, dropping temperatures, pumpkin spice lattes; do these mainstays of fall fill your heart with warmth— or with dread?

After an extremely hot summer, fall is a welcome change, the temperatures cool off , the leaves change into a variety of colors, all this is a pleasant sight for a little while, but when the leaves fall on the ground, the bare branches of trees, immediately reminds me winter is ready to change its place with fall.

This is the time it is scary. the early snowfall in November, transforms nature into a white blanket of snow everywhere, on trees, on the ground on the roofs of houses, on the streets, children have a wonderful time playing with this free plaything.

Then it starts to be dreadful, the short days, the strong wind and heaps and heaps of snow, covering everything is no longer a happy sight, with doorways, driveways packed with snow, the task of removing the white stuff is an ordeal, no one enjoys.

The slippery roads, the unploughed streets makes moving hazardous. are a   characteristic feature of winter and I do not enjoy fall because I know winter is not far behind.
