Famous vs Infamous!

Famous and Infamous is similar because both are descended from the Latin fama. Both means well-known, famous tells you about the positive traits of a human being, while infamous also means well-known but in a negative way.

When we think about Shakespeare, the word famous comes to mind. We think about his amazing plays, it tells us how talented he was. 

Infamous however has a negative meaning. When we think of an infamous person, we think of serial killers. 

It’s interesting how a simple prefix to a root word changes the meaning completely!

DP Daily Prompts: Pains and Gains

Do you agree with Jane Fonda’s favorite exercise motto,”no pain,no gain?” Is it impossible to to attain greatness without considerable hardship?

I agree with Jane Fonda’s exercise motto, “no pain,no gain?” If we want to be in good shape, we have to work for it, we cannot just will it. We all want to be in good shape, if we do not put in the time to do it we’ll never achieve our goal. She shows how she got into shape by doing the exercise, she didn’t only talk.

Greatness is not easy to achieve without hard work, to be famous one has to work hard and I truly believe in it.

There are people who are famous by their evil deeds. They are hated by everyone, it’s the kind of fame that make them infamous.

Writing Prompt: Tables turned

Are as comfortable in front of a camera as behind one? Being written about as well as writing?

I have no problem being in front of a camera, but behind a camera I am not that great. I have a camera ,when I bought it I was excited and dreamed of taking gorgeous photos, I haven’t done so and I doubt I’ll ever be comfortable doing it.

I do not think I’d like to be written about, it’s something reserved for a whole different category of humans. Some  people are written  about when they  accomplish unbelievable goals, or those who have done something terribly inhuman. I do not belong to any of these people.

I enjoy writing, I never knew I would be able to do so until lately.I may not excel in this craft I write to practice and improve. Whether I’ve done that is hard to say. I’m carrying on with the hope someday I might do better than  now.

365 Writing Prompt: No longer a mortal

You’ve imbibed a special potion that makes you immortal.Now that you’ve got forever what changes will you make in your life? how will you live differently , knowing you’ll always be around to be accountable for your actions?

When I think of immortal, I think of all the definitions of this word: living forever; not mortal; divine;likely or worthy to be famous for all time; a person of enduring fame.

I think I’d rather be mortal than live up to any of these definitions. I am comfortable with the life I’m living, any change from it will not be desirable for me.

The fact that I’ll be expected to live differently is not a favorable option. The idea of trying things that I have not done before will be a pain for me, and the idea I’ll always be around to be accountable for my actions is not appealing to me.

I think I’m doing all right,I’m a good person. I am not anxious to be famous, fame can be a difficult thing.Think about Princess Diana, she was famous, she never had her privacy, there were people always ready to take advantage of her in all sorts of ways, she eventually paid the price, she  died at a very young age.

My life is simple,I go where I want to, I visit my friends without being interrupted by outsiders. I am free,  to me this is the best way of living my life. I do not mind being mortal.

DP Daily Prompt: Instant Celebrity

If you could be a famous person for a day , who would you be? Why?

I thought about instant celebrity for a few moments. After taking a big part of my morning thinking, I came up with the idea I want to be the famous Joseph Phillipe Pierre Elliott Trudeau, he was the fifteenth Prime Minister of Canada for sixteen years.

He studied law and in 1961 he joined the staff of the university of Montreal as a professor of constitutional law.

When his party was looking for a leader after Pearson retired , he campaigned for leadership. He won and his party won the election,he was sworn in as Canada’s fifteenth Prime Minister.

The two important events that took place during his time was the implementation of Bilingualism , he fought hard and won to keep Quebec part of Canada and Canada’s patriation from Queen Elizabeth’s Britain in 1981.This brought about new and widespread civil rights for all Canadians.

His dedication for his country was amazing, his accomplishments are many,although I only listed some.

I like to be famous like him even if it is only for a day!

DP Daily Prompt: When Will I Be Loved

Have you dreamt of becoming famous? What would your claim to fame be? Comedy?Acting? Writing? Race Car Driving? Go!

Life for me is a comedy,I do not need a stage to perform I am doing it right where I live. I will not try to take away a few morsels from those who are already in the business.

I feel the same about acting, I cry,laugh, sing,dance I do everything what the seasoned actors do. The only difference is they get paid,they have to entertain or get booed. Keeping all this in perspective this doesn’t suit me either.

I’m trying writing not to be famous but to keep my brain sharp or it will be rusty.

Race Car Driving is not my thing, I dislike driving. I did it for a few years and now I think the joy is not there.

As long as my family and friends love me I will be contented!

DP Daily Prompt: Your Life, the book Post by Ranu

It’s the most interesting topic to write about.”My Life, the Book”, famous writers are keen on writing biographies of known people for the sake of making a name for themselves. Their time means money,since they will not get any financial benefit, they will be quite amused if I ask them to write about me.So I’ll cross out famous writers.

Same thing is true of a celebrity,writing about me does not fall in their realm of interest.This one is out as well.

Then comes the wordpress.com blogger. No I’m not getting a vibe.

What is left is someone close to me. That person will write true facts about me. There’ll be no spices added.This is what I’d want. A true account of me from the time of my entry to this world, up to the present day.

Fatima Bhutto, from Pakistan Post By Ranu

Surfing the internet sometimes helps to find  rare gems. I found one such personality. It’s a young woman from Pakistan. I was thrilled to hear her speak. Her name is Fatima Bhutto,  I watched it on YouTube. She happens to be Benazir Bhutto’s niece. I liked her not because of her family name. She is really a very intelligent woman. She talked about her country, so many young educated  people who can do a lot to improve the condition of her country.I was amazed to see the number of journalists present.

She can do quite well, without her famous relatives. She makes it known right away.  Is  highly educated,has a very good command of English.  Is very impressive ,I hope some day she’ll be able to help her country. She certainly has the potential to do so.
