The words are written in Bengali.

……………………………………………….

Freedom or Death says the writing on the wall

For to live without freedom is a curse for mankind

God created His humans to rise and not to fall

This is what History tells us we need not be blind!

………………………….

We were  united together to have freedom of speech

Slowly we realized it was out of our reach

We’ve been taught we should fight for our right

It seemed impossible and out of our sight!

……………………………….

Who will take stock of the lives we lost

How long will this last and at what cost

It was impossible to calculate the numbers

No one could do it because of the unaccountable murders!

……………………………………..

Will humanity still say we did it all wrong

Pray, guide us and tell us what would you do

If your people were told they did not belong

Would you sit back and let them harm you!

……………………………….

Countless people perished in this war

Who gained by this awful situation

My mind asks this question

There is no one around who knows the answer!

…………………………………….

The silent wall portrays to all who standby

Freedom is necessary to survive,

Without it we may as well die!

……………………………………….. 😦

Writing 101, Day, Five: Freedom

“Uncensored writing coming from the heart often produces the most amazing read.”__ Bebong

“Man was born free, and he is everywhere in chains.”__Jean Jacques Rousseau

“Free people remember this maxim: We may require liberty, but it is never recovered if it is once lost.”___ Jean Jacques Rousseau

” You forget that the fruits belong to all and the land belongs to none.” ___    Jean Jacques Rousseau

The above three quotes has a definite purpose in my mind.

………………………………..

What Freedom Means To Me:

I’m assured, “uncensored writing,

Often produces amazing reading.”

Does it mean I have Freedom to speak my mind ?

…………………………………

Do only the wealthy ,

Have freedom to look down upon,

The poor and unfortunate people?

…………………………..

Is the color or gender of a human,

The decision making tool for success and,

Failure?

…………………………

Will a human be discriminated,

Because he speaks a different language,

And belongs to a developing country?

…………………………………

Most humans believe in the

Creator of the Universe,

Whether he calls Him Allah or God or

Bhagwaan,will it matter?

……………………………

The French Philosopher said,

“Man is born free ,

and he is in chains everywhere.”

…………………………………….

These  words, does not mean freedom?

Jean- Jacques says, fruits belong to all,

But the land belongs to none,

Yet battles are fought to possess land.

……………………………………

If we thought for a moment what

The above quotes  mean,

We will no longer feel we own anything.

Will we  still  fight wars and kill people?

…………………………………………

Education is not the privilege of a few,

All of humanity deserves to be educated.

To gain the most basic knowledge,

Why some of us are white and most are not.

………………………………………

It gives  us the most essential wisdom,

Why are we different,

Who is the culprit?

…………………………….

It’s the ‘Climate’,

Can we  wage a war against ‘Nature?’

No we cannot, because nature protects us.

………………………………

To be able to survive ,

Humans must believe in Liberty ,

Equality and Freedom.

………………………….

Liberty is, ‘Free will,’

Equality is,’Equal, rights and opportunities,’

Freedom means, ‘Personal or civic liberty.’

…………………………………

The most important is my conclusion:

God announced to the Angels,

“I am going to have a ‘Vicegerent,’

On Earth , Adam is his name,’

The Angels protested,

God said, “You do not  know, what I know!”

God served His purpose by creating us.

He has faith in us, which is why He,

Paid no heed what the angels had to say.

Can we not join together,

And let the Angels Pray?

…………………………………….:)

Blogging 101,Day Four: Identify Your Audience

Today’s assignment: publish a post you’d like your ideal audience member to read, and include a new-to-you element in it.

Today I have chosen Rabindranath Tagore my favorite poet to write about. Tagore’s poems and song lyrics portrays everything from nature, to human misery, to happiness, he has covered it all.

I will write his poems and song lyrics which is all about nature. I am positive, he felt the same as William Wordsworth who wrote and I quote here: The world is too much with us ; late and soon, getting and spending , we lay waste our powers: Little we see in Nature that is ours; we have given our hearts away, a sordid boon.

Tagore loved Nature which is why he hated to study in an enclosed building. Humans should have the freedom to enjoy nature. With this in mind, he built the school named, Shanti Niketon(house of peace) here students studied outdoors, they had the freedom to move around.

Tagore loved children, he wrote song lyrics and poems with children on his mind. One reason could be he lost his mother when he was very young, this probably encouraged him to write poems about the interaction of a child with his/her mother.

I have known Tagore’s poems from a very early age, partly because the poet and I speak the same language i.e. Bengali ,I lived in Bengal, my parents were Bengalis. I am very fond of poetry and Music, Tagore’s work provided all of that.

Today I have embedded  a children’s song , the lyrics are written by Tagore. The subject is “Freedom”.

This is my translation:

Let us have freedom,do not hold us back

just like the birds in the woods that  fly around happily

Like the heavy rain, that falls without resistance

Like the  bondless  clouds and wind that move around in the skies

Like the dance of the firewood that encircles everything

Like the thunder that roars from the cloud

Like the roar of uncontrolled laughter where there is no barrier.

Let us have freedom, do not hold us back!

This is my day four assignment. I have tried to attract those adults who are children at heart as I am.

FREEDOM

Simi and Sami were two siblings, they found out from their Mom and Dad,they’d have to leave their beautiful home and go to another country far away.

Simi was unhappy, she fussed a lot, she did not want to give up her friends and her favorite teacher, her brother who was a bit older did not mind moving away,he was thrilled with the idea of making new friends and going to a new school.

Suddenly their world turned upside down, their father announced,”they’ll have to leave immediately to be safe.”

Simi was terrified to know her friends will kill them, if they didn’t leave the house at once.

They spent more than three days hiding from the danger of getting killed, at last after three frightening days they reached their destination, Simi’s parents told her, “we are free now, no one will kill us!”

2. Freedom: Every one has a right to freedom.

3. Health:  If we take care of ourselves,we will be healthy.

DP Daily Prompt: You’ve got the power Post by Ranu

Imperialism

Imperialism (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I hope this power enables me to bring some law and order in the world. I would put an end to imperialism. The smaller and weak nations will  not be bullied by the imperialists.

Next I’ll make sure, there are no one homeless. No one hungry and deficient in vigour; sickly, feeble.

War will be unknown, people will not be afraid of getting killed in their sleep. All the weapons of mass destruction will be eliminated from the face of the earth.

Proper care will be taken of our environment. There will be no such thing as “Smog”.

Freedom will prevail.

DP Daily Prompt: Freedom Of Facebook Posted By Ranu

I do not know anything about facebook. Freedom is a word I believe can be misused. Facebook has come under attack? I’m glad the users or non users are taking steps to have some guidelines. I don’t think it’s  a place for hate speech or violent imagery. Having guidelines can help all those who use this to talk about themselves. It’s perfectly all right, but when it is used for a negative purpose,it should be controlled.

I sometimes see comments made by people when they watch YouTube distasteful to say the least. If users are not comfortable to watch, read whatever the case maybe, the best thing is to move on.There is no need to use swear words,it shows disrespect and also doesn’t say much about the person who is doing it.

Perfume wants to mix with scent,

scent wants to latch on to perfume.

The musical note wants to surrender itself to rhythm,

rhythm wants to travel hurriedly to musical note.

Feeling wants to appear as part of beauty,

beauty wants to stay away from feeling.

Infinite wants a close relationship with limit,

limit wants to lose itself in infinite.

Upheaval in creation who knows  whose idea it is,

the continuous movement from feeling to beauty__

freedom is praying for confinement in the home.
