365 writing Prompts: Shoulda,woulda,coulda

Tell us about something you know you should do— but don’t.

Yes there are a few things I  put on hold, but I know they need my immediate attention. This year I am hoping to take care of it, it’s my basement which is my headache, I have so many things to reorganize it gives me a headache when I think about it.

I am thinking of starting in the Spring, it’s the time of the year when the city’s garbage collectors pick up our unwanted stuff that we hoarded for I don’t know how long, it’s time to get rid of them, to make the basement look half decent.

This is one of the things I have on my list, other things are clothing, shoes, I know there are a few places in the city who will take them. For now this is what I have to do, let’s hope I can.

DP Daily Prompts: No Excess

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

“Perhaps too much of everything is as bad as too little.”— Edna Ferber

Do you agree with this statement on excess?

I agree too much of everything is as bad as too little.

One of the things I find troubling  is those who are affluent, how much food they waste, the adults and  their children don’t hesitate to throw away food which was cooked for them because suddenly they have a craving for fast food, so they decide to leave to go to a fast food place to satisfy their craving.

Then there are people looking in the garbage to find food that’s thrown away by some rich kid. They are prepared to eat anything they find to satisfy their hunger.

This is when I think some have too much others have too little there is no balance.

DP Daily Prompt: In the Summertime

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

Theoretically, summer will return to the polar-vortex-battered Northern Hemisphere. What are you looking forward to doing this summer? If you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, what are your fondest memories of summer past?

Unfortunately I am living in the northern hemisphere and am anxiously waiting for summer, which still looks as though it is taking its time to show itself because our behavior is less than desirable. Why you ask, we are not recycling as we should, we are making it look as if every space visible is a huge garbage can, we own too many cars per family and are the cause of pollution. We are too lazy to throw our used coffee cups in the designated areas,we ignore it and throw it on the spot where we had our coffee. We’ve been warned but we ignore the signs.

When summer decides to show up, I am planning to get every bit of stuff I am not using and making my house look like a junk yard, donate  to citizens who might find better use for them.

My garden needs a thorough clean up and perennials would be sorted out, if they need to be thinned out then I’ll do that and not strangle them by overcrowding . The trees and shrubs need pruning, since I won’t be able to do this job,I’d hire the right people to take care of it.

Summer is the best time to get things done outdoors, which is what I plan to do.

When everything looks half decent I might take a trip near my home.I think I have written how I am going to utilize the summer months, hopefully it’ll appear without any further delay!

Writing Prompt: Through the Window https://sabethville.wordpress.com/2014/01/29/365-days-jan 29th -through the window/

I went to the nearest window. These are the things I saw. Two houses, one is white with grey roof, the other one is also white with black roof.

I can see garbage on the end of their driveway, recycle and waste. Those to be recycled are in blue bags, others are in black plastic bags.

Oh right across my house there is a grey Subaru parked in their driveway.

There is some snow on the lawns.

When I was almost finished counting sixty seconds, the green garbage truck stopped in front of my neighbor’s driveway to pick up the garbage.

This is all I saw. My street is relatively quiet in the morning. Everyone already left for work or school.
